Interesting that Karachi was considered the “Paris of Asia” in the 1960’s because I lived there from 1963 through 1966. I was an American 14 year old upon arrival and got out of there just a year or so from high school graduation. I’ve learned more things through your video reporting of your one month stay than I did from living there for many years. I lived off Tariq Rd in a section known as P. E. C. H. S. with my parents and four siblings. My dad worked at the US Embassy in downtown Karachi just a few blocks from the Metropole Hotel. I have no idea if it is still there, but that building could easily qualify as a place out of Paris, France then. It hosted jazz legend Duke Ellington and his band during their Asian tour. Karachi in your videos looks very similar to how it looked in the 60’s so little has changed. Like you, I enjoyed the food especially Chicken Tikka. Really liked the smells of Karachi too. But best of all, it’s people were kind and giving. A nice memory rekindled, thanks.

In Islam, it is an honor and a blessing to be receiving guests and having the chance to feed and care for them. Everything that you share with your visitors, the Muslims believe will be rewarded with more by Allah. Hospitality is one of the things prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) have taught to his umma and something that Muslims from around the world respect, follow, and take pride in. Islam is truly a beautiful religion, often misjudged and misperceived by the world because of the media and the different propaganda. But when you truly experience being with (true) Muslims by yourselves, you will definitely see the difference and realize there are so much beauty and goodness in this group of people. Thank you for sharing this lovely narrative of your Pakistan experience Haley. All your vlogs are so intelligently and authentically narrated. More power and take care wherever you are now. I have been staying in pak since 8 yrs as a Nepali and I must admit , pak is . Most mis understood Nation. I had the best life with so much genuine love from totally family like brothers, sisters. I have lived in India too. But I must admit I have the best, very clean, friendly life here in Pakistan. Pakistani are mis understood for their overwhelming kindness and loving, hospitality. Media has always negative chunk out of Pakistan to quench their diet on but in reality, pak is way way far more of a very standard and hospitable and loving country with kind Pakistani ppl. Just one word goes for Pakistani ppl "friendly and truly caring" This definition is misinterpreted on the outside World thankfully from this video its evident and would soon be in real sense to whole world as Pakistan has been open to whole World. Easiest country to travel to and get visa on arrival. One day pak wud compete Europe I second you the beauty it owns is beyond any level it's just not realized. Thee perception has not yet reached on larger scale. Imran Khan is a true human leader of world not only Pakistan. Having idolized to him I m blessed to have shaken hands with my idol. 🤝 I as a Nepali live in Pakistan I want to tell all the Pakistani ppl ur love and hospitality is ur most powerful owning In World from being universally most loved nation in the world. That is Pakistan that is no like other country. Pakistans soul and its diversity is far more beyond then what is even shown here. Its gigantic in every form just no entertainment media to show other thn stupid war and bad politics..Pakistan is way much more then what you think it is its totally opp to what the media gain by just defaming it. In real sense i see Pakistan' a heaven with loving ppl in its country which is priceless.

I am an architect and I say that THE MOST IMPORTANT WAY TO MODERNIZE A COUNTY, even more important than education, is to do three things: 1. Implement a strict garbage collection program and fine those who pollute. 2. Preserve the street and more importantly the EDGE OF THE STREET, which can be the sidewalk or curb. If you can keep it clean with parking, pedestrians, and traffic organized, it will do wonders in terms of creating order, which will help with other social programs. Do not allow shop owners or restaurants to take over the sidewalk unless the street is closed for vehicular traffic. 3. Signage and Paint: Limit signage on buildings and walls or have a consistent sign band for the entire row of shops. Force building owners to paint their building every five years, unless cladded with natural stone or brick. Once you do these three things, your country will appear modern and organized. It will be beautiful!

Media outlets actually play a big role in geoplolitics. The reason why we keep hearing negative and positve news from different news outlets. If your country is in bad diplomatic ties with another country expect that your country will be portrayed negatively in that other country.

Unfortunately even though Pakistan did everything to make the world understand that they are not what's been portrayed and has been in good terms with the people who apparently control media so much so it took American war as it's own and lost $150billion to economy and 70000 casualties of its citizens still all we heard was do more and be doubted on until we're now blessed with a true leader PM Imran Khan, who has said no more with dignity. Fortunately we've never been in good terms with the one who controls the strings of economy and media but we're happy with even less... Rather than being devil's advocate

You can have it here too. It's available in all major U.S. cites. I think the only exception would be that it won't have the tobacco that makes your head spin like a top. The reason is, pan vendors here in the United States don't have the license to sell tobacco. If you are ever in Chicago, visit Devon Street and you will find pan at almost every place. In New York, you can find it at Jackson Heights.

I've seen it! There were times where the waiters were so uncomfortable because I snuck away from my Pakistani friends and was able to pay for our meal, and my Pakistani friends were not happy that the waiters allowed me to pay behind their backs! It was comical though, no one was bothered or hurt : )

Travel vlogger like you with no fear of being adventurous would risk to go to a place that nobody would dare to even think listing them to their travel bucket lists not until you get to show us details of what and how the place is the way you see and had a lovely experience that you put your heart into it, must be something that you can easily convince people to see the place and experience them too and that is what you are to us as a travel vlogger 👍😘
