She was too tired and slept immediately.....didn't talk at all... only helped her with Locker to get her stuff safe ... gave it back in the morning and left. Didn't wanna make her uncomfortable by asking my curious questions. Like, girl .... how brave are you? I only knew she was Brit, of course from her accent. Sri Lanka may be so close to India and have similarities but one thing became clear to me that day......Sri Lankans are more civilized, respectful, and generally nice. That's why solo female travelers can behave like that. Plus, Cleaner.

Sorry to hear about your experience.. My girlfriend (white french) and I (korean american) traveled to india/pakistan last year. We did everything ourselves with no tour and only ate and hang around local places. Surprisingly we weren't harassed much. I think you are right. If you are a white female solo traveling, you will probably get harassed more. We did get approached everyday but they leave us after we tell them to f*ck off. We don't really blame the individual people harassing us but the shit system and education these people grew up with. Because to be honest we went to wealthy areas in new delhi and it was the exact opposite. people were very kind and no one was bothering you. No one staring, no one trying to sell you stuff. It just tells you the significant discrepancies in a population. I just hope things improve in india so that future tourists don't deal with such pain. I also heavily blame your tour guides. I can't believe they took you too areas where you would get harassed more. That is a terrible red flag... Next time, check out northern india like srinagar and ladakh! I have traveled India from the Himalayas to Kaniyakumari for the past 25 years. Mostly I have traveled with groups and friends, and twice by myself. I have witnessed the moral downfall coming little by little. Now is an avalanche, out of control. My worst experiences have been in Agra, Jaipur and Delhi. Mostly scammers and very aggressive men. The state I have felt the most safe is Tamil Nadu. I have never experienced any sort of inappropriate behavior from anyone. Kerala is also quite safe. My advice to young solo female travelers: NEVER visit India alone if you don't know India very well. NEVER go alone unless you stay in very safe places with people you know. When I traveled twice by myself (2014 and 2023) I stayed in ashrams and spiritual communities where I know people, I know are safe places to stay and very peaceful and loving environment. For female travelers go to India only in groups from reputed and well known travel agencies.

Without any proof, without a small video clip, without any police complaint, this woman told some horrible things about India and people started believing them. Yes, I agree that women are not so safe in India but I don't think that such bad things happen to foreigners at tourist sites like goa, jaipur and udaipur. If it were so, then millions of tourists would not come to India from western countries. And despite such a horrible thing happening, this woman, her tourist guide, her tourist company did not even file a complaint with the police. This seems very strange. Unfortunately in Goa , there are so many domestic tourists , the local Goan men would not do this , this behavior would be Domestic Indian tourists , who tend to travel in packs . again im really impressed with this discussion as it needs to be addressed . i hope that you have taken time to decompress form this trip . we need to see the world for what it really is , and discussions need to be had and explored Kind regards Greta

North West India has a terrible gender ratio, which is ultimately leading to these issues. Southern and Eastern states are noticeably safer. Yeah, not quite paradise like the West, but nowhere close to what happens in the North Western parts. And most of the rapey crowds in the South Eastern states are those from the North Western parts. Eastern India is fine too. As she said, Mumbai isn't bad either. The problem are the North Western states. Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Western UP are the worst. Even the problematic crowds in Goa are from these regions. Not that the problems don't exist in Southern or Eastern India, but nowhere close to what happens in NW. And most of the perpetrators in these states are from NW as well. Because of the way seats are structured in the parliament, no political party wants to admit that North Western states have a major rape problem.

I am Indian, During college days I did event management, there was one event in dhule in maharashtra. It is a remote village in India. Very poor area. My task was to handle food and beverages. But after some time there was one foreign girl standing, whole village about 40-50 people surrounded her asking for photos, tiktok, even the security guard was also not able to defend so, me and other 4 people were protecting so that no one come close to her. Most of the people living small towns and villages are like that only. Indian government seriously should take action or bring some laws to tackle these problems.

As an Indian, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this video. As someone who comes from the Himalayan part of India, which is much more civilized and peaceful than any part of mainland India, I find it extremely suffocating to travel to places like Delhi. Not only are the people extremely dishonest, but the place is equally disgusting and filthy. You can't trust anyone here. Even the people you've paid will be dishonest and always want more money. A woman from the US was scammed in Jaipur for fake jewelry, and when she came back, they refused to even recognize her. The same filth is being imposed on the good parts of India, like mine. At least you have the option to leave, but unfortunately, I'm not so lucky. Most foreign KZbinrs who come to India try to paint a very false and rosy picture of this hellhole just for views and subscribers, misleading people in many ways. Don't focus on negative comments. The truth can't be hidden in this age of social media, so make sure that your message is received by the public the way you intend.

I have visited the Himalayan regions a couple years ago and I can say it's much safer as it's largely brimming with tourists and is a spiritual region overall. I'd just highly suggest booking a 4 star or above hotel (3 star if the reviews are good) and book your driver through the hotel itself. I have personally never faced an issue then. Just please make sure to live in good highly rated hotels. I generally avoid anything rated below 4 out of 5 at all costs. Also I will absolutely suggest not to go to Delhi and Rajasthan, I avoid it like a plague as it is largely filled with a patriarchal mindset and no matter what will be a deeply uncomfortable place. If you truly want to visit the mountains of India without any issues as Manali would have them too, I would suggest just going to the North East. Arguably the safest in India.
