according to a wikipedia, "Hackmann (director) said that she ran everything by her then 16-year-old daughter to make sure Barbie was talking about things a teenager would talk about. Mattel created a new animation model and the vlogs are not scripted a long time in advance. They are done in real-time as much as possible and motion captured."

The sorry reflex is a REAL problem... When I was in labor I was telling everyone sorry. I wasn’t screaming at any doctors or my fiancé, but rather, I apologized because I felt like a burden... I don’t remember the whole day, but I still remember CONTINUOUSLY saying sorry to everyone in the room.

I remember in the old 2000s barbie movies, Barbie was the BEST role model. Never did she lie, cheat, steal, hurt other people, be selfish, put others in harm's way, never not go out of her way help someone, listen and (mostly) obey her parents, give advice, be mindful of the world around her. Family needs came first, honesty and love and compassion came first.
@sarak68833 жыл бұрын

Even as a guy. That “feeling blue” video hit me hard. She really confessed to the world that she suffers from depression and anxiety. I really like this new take on Barbie because her words can appeal to everyone.

One of my favorite shows as a kid was Ed Edd and Eddy, I've been re-watching it and I realized that it helped me with gender stereotypes, Jimmy and Edd (double D) weren't the stereotypical little boys and had gentle characteristics, and now it's still one of my favorite shows ever. so there may have been lessons, we just didn't see them at the time
@toffletorte5 жыл бұрын
Owen S unfortunately, not all of us grew up watching mr. rogers, and i feel like he’s not as relevant to kids today. that’s not to disrespect his legacy, as mr. rogers is one of the sweetest people to have ever walked this earth. another perk to these barbie vlogs, along with relevancy to children and ease of access, is that barbie is talking about issues that are very relevant to women, and she gives messages that young girls deserve to hear when they’re young. while mr. rogers is a great show universally for children, barbie is great for young girls, and specifically targets them. i’m not sure how to end this, but i’m just really glad this barbie series exists and that it’s doing something good for society.

When you feel validated about something that you've been ashamed of for a long time, it can be emotional. I cried the first time I saw barbies vlog on being sad, too.

I remember when I was a young girl and played with Barbies, if we ever felt depressed later in life, some of us wouldn’t get advice from someone else. I think it’s really good that she’s going advice to young girls... ((Also, I see you with your Stacy’s Mom reference))

I’m so here for this. Empowering young girls and boys is so important. Kids self esteem is getting lower and lower and it’s so great that they can watch stuff like this to help them out

It really triggers me that you don't have at least one million subscribers. You're a really hardworking youtuber and show your awesome real personality in everything. Some youtubers just do nothing but look at a camera and earn lots of subscribers (which means more $). People should really focus on the more unique personalities on youtube like you. Anyways, I just want to let you know that you should stay amazing like always and stay happy no matter what. I'm really glad that people like you are still here and haven't changed like the others.
