It's pretty ridiculous when you look at the severity of other serious crimes in comparison. Post something online that may be frowned upon, and you'll have the police at your door ready to arrest you... V.s. someone reporting stalking and harrassing behaviour. Who gets a slap on the wrist until they commit violence against the person they've stalked and harrassed. I believe the police should be there to intervene where physical conflict is likely to happen, and to de-escalate situations. Not to enforce what could be seen as arbitrarily offensive posts. Someone, somewhere will always feel anxious or threatened by something they do not like or understand. The solution is not a gagging order or prison. Also, what she said is wrong for sure. Maybe instead of jailtime just naming and shaming her would have more of an educational impact. Removing online anonymity

If you go on youtube shorts and you keep watching all of shorts about dogs, you will increasingly be shown shorts about dogs. If you keep watching all of videos/shorts/tiktoks/what ever because the algorithms are all the same, that come from the same political microcosm, increasingly the algorithms will show you videos from those creators/related creators because you have been shown to engage with it. The only thing I'd say in her favour is, I think the government should have gave out a warning that social media posts will be taken VERY seriously, first. That said, I am 100% in support of this. Far too many people get their "facts" or "news" from social media, and they say something before any actual evidence comes in and people end up getting hurt. I think its a perfectly reasonable sentence considering she won't spend anything like that time inside - it was an incitement to perform an illegal act resulting in the death of people - I feel she got off lightly. Everyone should have the right to express their thoughts however distasteful in whatever media they like. You can chose to not listen or read, or to determine that the writer is a nutcase or not, but he must be able to express himself (herself/ itself etc) otherwise we get into the realms of govt deciding what we can say and that will depend on what colour tie they wear.

On facebook it is easily done by a slip of the finger and hitting the wrong button we have all done it and accidentally reported a post instead of deleting it..
