SHOULD YOU BUY A 2006 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX WAGON WITH PRODRIVE PACK?

So with the XC90 gone it was time to sort out another family wagon. 2 x small kids a couple of small 2+2 sports cars does not a happy family make! So after a bit of searching we lucked out and plumped for a bit of old school japanese coolness in the form of a hawkeye model 2006 Subaru WRX Wagon with a Prodrive Performance Pack (PPP)! Christian K my dad has had 3, first one in 1995 or so on, first one was a (don’t know the year) sport, next was a 2001 sport special, and currently a 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.0T (blobeye) Very very nice car for the price.

We have owned a 2005 WRX Prodrive wagon for 4 years. It's amazing. Never fails. 140k.miles and it pulls really well.

The answer is yes. This is my first car and I got it for 2k but had to swap the engine with a 2.5l turbo, anyhow, wouldn’t have said it better than this vid. GREAT car

A prodrive kit improves them a lot but the the brakes still aren't great on the wrx compared to the sti

Pedal Loud I think most people don't consider that even though they are 4 pot on the front of the wrx, you are slowing down a significantly larger rotating mass than a hot hatch, so a subaru needs a lot more stopping power than something like a focus St or golf gti travelling at the same speeds. It is also the same case with the amount of power the car has as well. A wrx will loose a larger amount of its power getting from the crank to the road vs a fwd or red car, which is why the prodrive pack and remaps are very popular. I think even though people see the wrx as a better value car because the prices are much lower, once you need more or want to modify it to make it faster or stop better you should really look at upgrading to an sti rather than modifying a wrx.

Thats so nice mate i went too see a 1997 Subaru Impreza uk 2000 completely stock £2950 140k was a bit rotten not much service history, saw a 2002 bugeye wrx 108k also a rotten nail , saw a 2005 blobeye wagon in blue for £6500! 66,000 miles 1 owner and was rotten worse than the 1997! So i gave up tryna look for an impreza bought a 2001 Subaru Forester s turbo manual for £1500 with a years mot stock

@@damos_cars same engine yeah . the Subaru snapped on Thursday rear cross member is hanging off gutted it doesn’t drive properly. I managed too get it home just. Its absolutely fucked now 11,000 miles and 10 months it never let me down once

Depends purely on it's condition and whether it has been well maintained. Regular oil changes are crucial but a strong specialist service history is a good thing to have. £1500 does sound a bit cheap to me.
