Should You Buy A 2023 Gladiator Or Wait For The New 2024?

The Jeep JT inventory is abundant throughout the US Dealership. Plus, they're very expensive. The Gladiator radio antenna should be on the right side with a short one. It's a bad concept to have it in the windshield.

Agree I would not like the antenna in the windshield. But atleast it's still a naturally aspirated v6 still. So I can deal with the antenna. Live the capability of these trucks

I've been planning to wait 3 years and see where things are at then, but it really is tempting to get a '23. The problem is the current interest rates will eat up quite a bit of that savings with a payment plan.

Yep interest rates do suck right now. Same with the housing market. We want to buy a rental house but rates are brutal.

Jason, I love your stuff, this is not a criticism. I have a 2014, 2 door willy's, the first year they brought the willy's back. It's more than just better tires. Mine was a .373 gear ratio vs the .321 sport, so 4wd low is incredible. I got better shocks and skid plates and rock rails. I have not kept up with the current models, but the willy's should be more than just tires. You're right there wasn't a locker, and it's not a Rubicon, but it's a better upgrade than just tires. They come with rock rails and upgraded shocks, and a cool WILLY’S hood emblem and a sweet 4wd sticker on the back. I hear the stickers add like 20 HP per letter.

I’m in the market for a Gladiator Rubicon but I have a Frontier Pro4X budget so I’m going to wait until December and see if I can find a ‘23 Gladiator Rubicon for $50k w/max tow, cold weather and aux switches.

Should be able to find a 23 gladiator rubi for less than that now. But you can't get a max tow package on a rubicon with the rubicon lift and suspension

Thank you for your reply sir. Rubicon comes with Dana 44’s so it just called the tow package? Also sir what sensors are in the ‘23 windshield that I need to avoid?

@alaksoglossian8456 not sure what comes with max tow package. Knew it wasn't an option on the rubicon. But the gladiators with max tow can tow 6900 pounds I think. Where as the rubicon is 3500 I believe. Don't quote me on that but I'm pretty sure it's 3500. I have been told but can not verify that on the jeep even with the sensors behind the windshield a new windshield can be replaced without having to recalibrate all the sensors. I have not verified this. But that's what I'm told.

I did a little research and the towing rating for a ‘23 Gladiator Rubicon is 4,500 lbs for the 6 speed manual transmission and 7,000 lbs for the auto transmission both with the 3.6 gas engine and 4.10 gearing.

2024 for additiomal airbags, 2023 for diesel. Everything else is trivial.

Yep and so the sales numbers go up. The Price of the 24 is 1500 higher than 23 rumors has it anyway. Ford is doing the same right now with 23 f150s. Chevy just did it with 23 Silverado 1500s 2 months ago. It's common old vehicle close out tactics.

I will be doing more off road stuff this winter. Right now it's hunting season and I don't have the time to stop and set up cameras etc. 8m in get in the woods and hunt mode. You probably misspoke and meant front locker when you were talking about the Willy’s and the Sport but you said you weren’t getting a Dana 44 like on the Rubicon. Dana 44s are standard on all gladiators.

You are 100% correct the gladiator does have 44s in the front on all trim levels. Im used to the wrangler that has 30s in the front. Great catch and thanks for the correction.

Do you think a gladiator, rubicon would last out of warranty? Or are you rolling the dice? I heard one drivi g by one day and it sounded terrible like the motor.

The pentistar v6 has been around since 09 and is proven to be a 250-300 thousand mile motor. I would trust the gladiator more than any 2024 truck out there. And there are so many aftermarket companies making parts for the gladiator that if Mopar parts were on back order like all manufacturers are suffering from now, I could buy it aftermarket. There are so many jeep wranglers with 200k miles on the road. Probably more than any other truck. The problems jeeps have are minor electrical and little annoying issues. All easily fixed. And affordable to fix.

Well I was thinking it wldnt be more reliable than my soon to come in 23 off road it might be as those are Atkinson complex motors kinda but they seem to wrk. And yes 24 going turbo crap! Lol I guess ud have to say a pentagram wld be more reliable than a turbo anything really well said sir.

@michaelallen2221 the 23 tacoma is the best truck motor available today. Unfortunately it's only available for whatever inventory is left or on order. No more will ever be made. So when I say the penistar is more reliable than anything else I'm talking about the 24s that are coming out. The 23 tacoma will never be beat by any truck reliability wise.

Yep seen those ads too. they are false advertising to get you in the door but getting 10 or 12k off now is easy to do right now. Ford is doing the same with the current f150s. chevy just did the same with the 23 silverados. Everyone is trying to clear out old inventory and boost sales numbers.

Between the 23 tacoma and gladiator both are excellent but for me gladiator wins for size, capabilities, rear seat spaces, storage, and fun factor. Between a 24 tacoma and gladiator......gladiator hands down no question for me.
