I got the new Wilson NBA game ball. Had it for about 8 months now. Breaking in nicely. People in the gym are “petrified” to play with this ball. lol! One feel, and they are OUT on using it. I LOVE it! Plus it has made my form more consistent when switching to the Evolution during pickups.

@taivo25206 ай бұрын
Real leather basketball required a “break-in” time. Even in NBA training facilities, gonna take 3-5 months and even more sometimes to make the “new leather basketball” become “game ball”. And remember, NBA training facilities are basically every day of training. Not like average players play 2-3 days a week for 2-3hours/day. The process will take longer. I only play with real leather basketball because it has the true touch, accurate bounce for dribbling and accurate release for shooting/lay up. The evolution bounce is random and inconsistent. The basketball in general is too soft and cushy. The channel/seam are too big and the panel spacing is too deep, so if you have the “flick” when shooting, it will be the worst because it will stuck in your finger tips. And real leather basketball is superior with sweat, no slippery at all. If you stopped playing the evolution and just play real leather basketball for a week, you can’t go back to the Evolution because of the reasons I told above. The Evolution price now is nearly double than it was, I suggest people to get the EVO NXT. Because better material, better with sweat (kind like the NCAA Wilson Solution). Wilson Evolution is outdated.
@WesdenzelTV7 ай бұрын
Comparing an 8 year broken in ball vs a 3 month isnt fair but I get it. I did enjoy the NBA ball more after playing exclusively with it. Just got another since they are doing 40 percent off. Also your shot mechanics need to be much more consistent with it compared to the evolution. Also I throw on that working hands lotion anytime I play with it. Good ball, love it. Only private elite runs and NBA players will want to play with it tho. Most day to day pick up guys or leagues probably won’t want to use it if there’s an evolution around

Every time I bring my NBA ball to the gym, everyone wants to use the Evolution so I always end up having to adjust to the Evo mid-game lol. I’ve started only bringing my NBA ball out whenever I’m pretty sure I’ll be the only one in the gym.

I know I'm 3 months late but I just got the silent ball (fake 10$ replica) and I love it. It bounces less than an actual ball but that's to be expected from a round piece of foam lol. Still though you can practice handles in the house. For a reference on how quiet it is, I have cats and they freak out when I use the regular basketball outside in the backyard like 15 feet from the house but they literally have no reaction to the silent one being bounced next to their face, some even try to play with it while I dribble. Hope this helps.

I even emailed Molten with all the details of the fake listings and they didnt do anything.. I think Molten balls are good, I had a composite one for a few years and played in/outdoor with it. Paying that much for a game ball is crazy. I think i would be scared to use it.

Wilson breaks in much quicker than the spalding. Even if you compare both fresh out the box, it’s night and day. The black seems on the spalding we’re better quality tho
@sincityquinn3 ай бұрын
In order to break in leather, you literally have to play with it. You can bounce it all day, hard too, and it won’t really break in. It takes weeks of consistent play. Months if you’re just dribbling. But once it breaks in, it’s butter. The thing is, it’s still the best basketball on the court, whether it’s broken in or not. The softness of the Evolution kills the accuracy of the ball and makes it slippery when it gets sweat on it. Both issues that are not only not an issue with leather, but when the ball is wet it gets even better as far as grip and control. That’s why you would see Kobe wipe his hands on his jersey on the free throw line and Steve Nash would lick his fingers. Do that with the Evolution and that shit will become like a bowling ball with coconut oil on it.

Just a note here. I’ve felt the Game Balls that the actual NBA players play with and it’s far different from the ones they sell us. Food for thought.

I’ve been around in LA Lakers training facility and Clippers training facility. The official “game balls” use in NBA games are “completely broken in” during 6 - 8 months in the training. Then they will be picked to become game balls.
@Chilax5 ай бұрын
Yeah they get the best of the best out batch and the players and equipment managers broke them in perfectly.
@sincityquinn3 ай бұрын
They’re the same balls. They’re just broken in properly. It’s hard to break in a leather basketball the right way when everyone is too afraid to play with them. You can bounce the ball really hard (it can take it) but it still will take a while to break in. It needs the sweat and moisture of play to soften like the ones in NBA games. When I break one of mine in, I handle it every day. Even when im just walking around the house.

Idk what yall talking about in these comments, this was a terrible review, first off there is a difference between putting water on your hands and your hands naturally sweating, and yes the nba is the only one that uses that ball but every professional league across the world has a genuine leather finish on the balls they use, there is nothing wrong with the spalding nba ball or the Wilson nba ball, is it better the the Wilson evolution that honestly comes down to preference but they are both good balls

The Evolution is literally the worst indoor basketball ever. 20 years ago it was fine. But it’s a terrible ball now. Leather is superior. Even the composite leather balls like the EVO NXT and the indoor/outdoor basketball are better and more accurate. The reason why people like the Evolution is because it’s soft. But that’s exactly why it sucks. It’s too soft. Which makes it slippery and inaccurate.
