Buying points is great! I'm maxed out for the year with IHG! Also, the power of transferring points to the hotels is amazing! I recently took advantage of the chase - marriott bonus 70% and booked 31 nights with marriott! Now I just eliminated my full time travel cost for 1 month!

I'm only an Explorist and they upgraded me two months ago at the Park Hyatt in Siem Reap to a one-bedroom suite. It was nice! When I got to Phuket two weeks later they also upgraded me to a pool view at the Regency.

AARP has no age restrictions and you can get 10% off the base fare of your cruises. I'm 40 and joined for the discounts. Totally worth it! Hope that helps.

I just wanted to let you know that I upgraded my IHG from Traveller to Premier at your suggestion. I missed out on the bonus since I already had the card, but I plan to have my wife apply for a new one. Then about a month ago I bought the max points with 100% matching. I found out there is a limit you can buy. But, just today I got an offer good through Sep. 12th that I could "boost" the points I had just earned at a stay. I had earned 24,000 points for my stay. I was offered to boost 2x, 4x, or 6x my points with each level getting a higher discount. At 6x it was a 50% discount, so the same as a 100% match! I bought 144,000 points today on top of my annual "limit" of 500,000. I was quite surprised by the offer. PS We plan to spend all the points in SE Asia... "somewhere..."

Hi! Just want to share I greatly enjoy what you share. I am planning to go full time by 2026, but I have a different plan than many. I work int he wine industry and spend a lot of time in Spain and then for pleasure in Asia (Bali) every year for the last several years. I plan to continue this, but spend more and more time in Europe and Asia and lowering my time in the US significantly to about two months a year since I love what I am doing and it is still fun. Sorry for the long intro. Couple of little things I have not seen mentioned. Will probably get United Lounge Chase Card (80,000 Points & I live in Houston), helps with United status, but still on edge whether to do this or not. Key airports I will be using do not have Priority Pass so it is is United Card or Amex Platinum. I have not seen mentioned which might be of interest to all is that with Gold United status one gets to have access to Lufthansa, EVA, Etihad, Air Canada and Singapore Air etc. (All Star Alliance Lounges). Great perk and might be worth it to some. My earlier business travel life allowed me to get to Million Mile status (United) and Lifetime Titanium (Marriott) which makes which cards deciding to add a bit difficult. Defiantly getting IHG card, though the United Lounge Chase card gives one Platinum status on IHG, but I want the points. With you advice going to get the Chase Inc. card, but not sure if I should get the Chase Preferred or the Amex Brilliant Card.....or something else. Some things I am looking at are switching to Visible instead of Verizon, looking at researching what cards to get in addition to what I have (your help is immeasurable) looking to do some aspirational things next year...another month at the Bali Aloft Seminyak, going back to the Marriot at Petra, going back to Fringe Festival Edinburg (you should go) walking the Camino De Santiago (amazing scenery and food),, but will be watching more of your videos on Vietnam, Thailand (visited 20 years ago), and looking for info on the Philippines and Antartica (have you or will you be looking at going?) Sorry for the ling email, but hopefully the tidbits on lounges was intersting.... Thank you!

You can renew online in most states and just have the mailing address as a family members. Also have your mail forwarded to a trusted family member! Send them a shipping label periodically to forward the mail.

Greetings from West Virginia. I'm doing a Transatlantic cruise to Rome in the spring with a B2B of the Greek Isles. When we end up in Rome, I plan to stay a few nights and prefer to use IHG points. Obviously, it is easy to see the lowest point price per night, but do you have an IHG there that you prefer?

Definitely NOT when you can get “5 nights free”. You are then limited to five nights. With points, if you find a 10,000 point per night hotel in Asia, for the 140,000 points to you mentioned you can get 14 nights with points (plus an extra free 4 nights with the fourth night free credit card promotion with award points). The difference is mind-blowing.

hi ! can you talk aBout how to “qualify” for separate ihg c cards when married with one income . i applied for my own ventura cap x cc and got denied . i put an income for myself although my husband is the one that earns the salary. so we then got him the cc and added me as a signer. how can we get two separate ihg cc? our credit scores are 750 plus each and we have no other cc debt. TY!

Alot of people are getting denied for the venture x cards. Capital one wants it to be your primary use card. They don't want card stickers at all.

buying IHG point is not so good now as before, i was looking at IHG in tokyo that was 50-60k last month, and all of them are going for 80-120k now crazy.. all going up so much in matter of month
