Hi! Where do you shop for American sizes in Bangkok? Shopping for clothes has been a frustrating experience for me. I’m a US size 12/14 XL and everything is too tight and short here. I remember you saying that Bangkok is your favorite place to buy clothes. Thanks in advance!

@@GroundedLifeRetirementTravel I still don't understand the Hyatt card though. I get IHG because I can buy a lot of points with a 100% bonus and I get the 4th night free. But I can't really buy a lot of points with Hyatt and there's no free nights. Do you just buy everything through Chase and push those points over? If I buy points on both our accounts I can get to about 4-5 months of IHG stays on points but I don't see how I can stay the other 8 months on points. Planning to buy the course to hopefully figure it out.

I have a question about the value of purchasing IHG points. I am looking at a hotel in Portsmouth UK at $158/night or 33,666 points/night. To purchase 34,000 points is $184, with the 100% bonus. Why would anyone purchase points?
@rubphilosopher93079 сағат бұрын
With the IHG chase credit card you get the 4th night with points free plus free cancel and sometimes no fees
@GroundedLifeRetirementTravel9 сағат бұрын
If you have the credit card and search in blocks of 4 nights the points are almost always cheaper.

My husband got his too!!! I can’t believe we were both approved. I thought it would be much more difficult from the research I had done, but I guess the timing was right-maybe it’s a sign. 😊😊😊Listening to your live now… I’m guessing we should both try to reach Diamond status??? Love your videos and inspiration! I’m going to take your KZbin course… I’m not convinced I can create a successful channel, but I trust you two…if anyone can help me-I’m sure it’s you! 🇨🇱💕🇨🇱

@JulieMacKay-cd9hp14 сағат бұрын
I’m Cdn too. Unless you can get a US credit card you just need to buy them on sale. I used my Amex card so at least I get points I can transfer to Aeroplan. Where are you in cda?
@GroundedLifeRetirementTravel13 сағат бұрын
Yes you can buy the points without the card, but you don't get the 4th night free without it. So it can still be a good deal, but not as good as if you had the card.

We stayed at few IHG hotels in Europe this past August and September. We were not satisfied with the condition of rooms and the hotels. The four-star hotels were like three-star and the five-star were like three and half. I know you like IHG hotels in Asia. Have you been to IHG in Europe and what is your opinion of them? Thanks.

That is just Europe in general, you'll find in Asia it is reversed.

Assuming 20% tax rate, $4K is $60K gross for a couple. Do you have a sense of how much that budget would be for a solo traveler? It's not half, but is about $2,500 after-tax reasonable or is 75% or $3k more practical? Do you have travel back to the US in that $4K figure? As I listen to you all's videos, what's hard (for me, probably not others) to get my head around is accommodation expense, given that I would be paying AirBnB type rates, whereas I gather you all apply "points" to offset accommodation expense. Of course, faster travel (ie: lower discounts for longer stays) increases accommodation costs (again, AirBnb, not hotels). Any advice on "normalizing" your experiences for a solo traveler would be great! Thanks

You're correct. I think the smartest way to go is to spread out your investments. By putting your money into different asset classes like bonds, real estate, and stocks from other countries, you can lower the risk if one part of the market goes bad.
