Should you buy Lorcana Gateway? | [Disney Lorcana Product Review]

I don’t know if it’s just because I’m jaded. This community is so wholesome. Great product review great everything this community is something that I can’t tell if people are being genuine or naïve.

I think it’s generally genuine. So many of us have come from other TCGs and, well…we made the decision to set a positive and welcoming tone in the community as best we can. We really hope it lasts.

I'll take either one really. We need naive sometimes. Kinda like Frisk in Undertale in my opinion. And of course genuine is just always welcome in this time where we have to watch out for everything that isnt truthful.

That’s awesome! I’m so glad it worked for them. I think Gateway is one of the BEST products they’ve made for Lorcana.

Any clue if the game board is an actual board in this one, as opposed to the paper one they included in the Illumineer's Quest?

So…no confirmation yet. I zoomed in and looked at the picture for a while…and it LOOKS like a foldable board. But, I didn’t want to say that in the video without knowing for sure. Fingers are crossed!

We don’t know just yet. Only that there are no cards/treatments/art unique to this set.

Ouch ravensburger needs to slow down on all the similarities of Pokémon TCG. I’m a ex Pokémon player and oh lawd is ravens doing things really close to Pokémon and need to slow down. Pokekon has had a set like this for years now.

I’m curious…why it is a problem? Are the sets not effective?

@@Illumiteers sets in Pokémon are not effective in their trainer box. I think the biggest thing I’m worried about is companies getting their panties in a bunch then start throwing out lawsuits. Don’t get me wrong I’m glad I left Pokémon for Lorcana 100%. Pokémon players are let’s say different in my area. Long story short I don’t want to see anything happen to Lorcana as they have special special going

@@JOKRWLDRocks makes sense. I think the sentiment that Lorcana should be it’s own thing isn’t terribly uncommon…totally get that. I do hope this product is successful in helping get people into the game, though. The barrier to entry for TCGs can seem higher than it really is, so, hopefully this is a good place to start. But I appreciate your comment and sentiment!

Appreciate the advice. The studio isn’t set up terribly well for acoustics, atm. We’ve played around with it for a while and decided that, at the moment, we will settle for great audio and ok video over the reverse. We’re constantly upping our game, though, and will work to improve it.
