My first time playing R&C is Up Your Arsenal when I was in primary school… Love the series so much, even as 27 yrs old, so as far as getting Rift Apart on my PS5, it’s a definite ‘Hell Yes!’

I grew up playing these games on ps2 while my parents were in college and working. One of the first game franchises I fell in love with. I play much darker games now, mostly RPGs, but this video just made me install this game. I just got a ps5 after thanksgiving 2024.

I wouldn’t say that it’s worth buying. I would say that it’s more worth renting, especially since it’s probably gonna be the last ratchet and clank game for a long ass time.

It's pretty great. My only criticism is Rivet. She's just female Ratchet. 0 different abilities. My hope is, either playing as her is different in the future, or she's omitted altogether. It's a waste to flip between the two if they're exactly the same. Change her or lose her for the next.

@alexmac8246 it's not her plot that needs works, it's her play mechanics. You play a game where you switch characters, they should have some different moves or abilities. Otherwise why switch characters? If they play identically, it feels redundant. She either needs a new move set, maybe her own separate set of guns, or cut her and just focus on Ratchet.

From what I've seen it looks alright, it just doesn't look like an R&C game. It seems to be following the trend the series has gone on since the PS3 by trying to be super cinematic and have pixar levels of animation and that just isnt Ratchet and Clank to me. Ratchet and Clank is a gake seroes that thrived on being quite edgy for the time and not trying to go out of its way to be a massively kid friendly game. You never looked at it and saw a kids game, mostly because it was made for teens, but you still never did. Nowadays, especially with Rift Apart, Ratchet has to be this cutesy kid friendly character who has no flaws, and the whole series has to be overly dramatic and colorful and it all just looks like Playstation wanted to sell toys of the characters for the kiddies to snuggle up to in bed.
