As a day one player via Xbox, im excited for the influx of players. New pirates brings new plunder! But also new friends and foes on the seas. Where the game isnt for everyone, I simply adore it and hope it has a very long life.

@@bryanmiddleton736 Its very easy to learn and get decent at. Just remember being good isnt all there is to winning. think of unorthodox strategies and no doubt you will win. Customize your boat. sweats think twice before attacking another boat

Theres the mode "safer seas" Better Start there for Like 2 weeks so u understand some basics Also watch KZbin, some Tips Like "never anchor" and "dont Take kegs with u" are necessary

@@bryanmiddleton736 Tbh, most of the veterans are the nicest at sea. I've been playing since launch and when I see a new looking ship/pirates, I tend to just let them be or offer to help. As would some veterans. Only people you need to watch out for is they no good try hards who aren't quite veterans yet, but try make themselves look big by bullying the sea. Those are the type of people who still get breast fed at 40. But dont mind them, a veteran will quickly put them in their place when they notice this in the server. However, welcome to the seas, pirate! Happy sailing when it comes 😁

7:00 Rare have said numerous times that they have a ten year plan for the game there is still four years left in that plan so they aren’t going to end service for the game any time soon

I talked to Joe Neate about that at Gamescom and I do hope that they stick to that, but we must not forget that the gaming industry has not seen stranger days so RARE saying that they want to stick to their original plan is great, but it is far from a guarantee.

@@gmersdelightAs long as there is a playerbase, the game will survive for years to come. Like, a game I have thousands of hours in, Rainbow Six Siege, will turn 10 years old next year and the game currently is doing amazing. They could easily do Siege for another 5 years at the current rate. All that matters is that people are playing the game. If Rare keeps the amazing updates coming, players will keep coming back.

Since the release of update 2.10.2 you no longer need an active Game Pass subscription to play the Safer Seas mode as long as you own a copy of the game. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the same ruling would apply to PSN.

this game is all i was looking for in terms of RPG pirates experience. I bought on its premium edition the game looks amazing with those artistics models kinda cartoon. Some friends are already waiting for me join their clan and those galeon for pvp lol

i would’ve said no if i hadn’t watched the season 2024 preview trailer. they’re actually adding good content in the form of weapons and flame hearts PLAYABLE ship. biggest issue with SOT was rare outright ignoring adding anything but small quality of life updates. hope this is more than just 1 step in the right direction but i am excited

Rare announced a huge roadmap for 2024 so I doubt the servers will be going down anytime soon

It would make no business sense to stop developing content for and supporting this game. New to it myself, but a veteran of MMORPG and FPS on PC, I would say do the Maiden Voyage and then jump straight in, avoiding safer seas for anything other than an hour or so to familiarise yourself with basic sailing mechanics . Plenty of excellent content on YT and elsewhere and with a limited number of ships per server you are not going to be bumping into other players to anything like the degree you would in many games PVP servers.

Yes! So there's Safer Seas which is already available (though technically not offline as you're still connected to the servers) and then there's the announcement that PS and Xbox players no longer need an active Game Pass or PS+ subscription in order to access that.

Yes, you should be able to just login to the Microsoft account you've been using so far.

I recommend you to cancel the preorder and pre-order the regular version. Premium bonuses are not worth it, you get more and better cosmetics by just playing the game!

Nah it’s only £20 increase. However you get a lot of stuff, that gets rid of a bit of grinding. Also you get a cool lookin ship which is satisfying as well as decent looking cosmetics. New players are new players so they’ll never have the best equipment, so we want whatever we can get at the very start of our journey. We just don’t want to look incredibly basic when we start lol

Bro the game is so broken after the last update that it literally won't run on PC for a lot of folks. Sea of Thieves is one of my all times favorites.. but let's be real about the current state of the game. It's somewhere between very buggy to completely broken for all players.

played it as a beta games until 2 -3 years ago I then move to ps5 I went off Sof the game when they devalued the Pirate Legened and moved the goal posts Then the people I played with melted away and the comradery was gone I then started playing the developers SoT but they stopped the freebies and gave you money instead. Feel the Johnny Depp charactor could be developed further

don't buy it. sot player here. got over 3000 hours. the games is full of bugs and cheaters. it still feels like alpha version. server issues, performance issues, game crashes, server crashes, connection issues. this game is a huge mess and it feels like cheap F2P

I like how you describe the toxicity as "moments" and present the fun youtube clips like that's what the games really like i guess that's why you had to get such old clips. This game is hella toxic for the average player where team's will sever hop just to find someone building loot and they used the little wooden boat on the desk of each faction to know what your doing and doesn't take them long to find you and ruin your 4 hours of playing and on top of that you have random thing's that will spawn on you while trying to avoid player's even the wind f's you over when trying to get to an outpost slowing you down so player's can catch you. You've really tried to enhance the fun and minimise the toxicity with this video theirs a reason this game never maintained it's 33million players despite all the seasonal content which was all season pass content btw the regular content was never added to outside of tall tales.

True, I can only portray my subjective view of the game and for me, that's pretty much the majority of our sessions. Depending on your needs and wants you have to adapt - we're not too keen on PVP ourselves so we came up with strategies to either avoid direct fights or at the very least create our own advantages in those situations. As such, there are still moments in which we're ourplayed and subsequently there have also been quite toxic encounters. However, it has never been the majority of the player interaction for us. But you're right, the gameplay and its reception is highly subjective so mileage may vary.
