I had an inverter AC of 1.5 tons consuming an average of 1500 watts of BEST power. I changed to a 2.0 tons Solar AC, which now consumes average 550 watts of power. Temperature settings for both at 27 degrees Celsius during the night. There has been a considerable reduction in billing.

I think lot of disadvantages mentioned here are not valid now as there are now non kit standalone solar ACs which can work as hybrid.

You completely misunderstood solar AC, main defence between solar AC and normal AC is compressor motor. Normal AC used brush AC motor and solar AC used bldc motor. There is no such thing solar AC in International market. Solar AC actually bldc AC.

I'm well versed about internal differences. And no ac will use brushed ac motor. If you're talking about fixed speed compressors, They're capacitor assisted induction motors.
