Should you buy Surging Sparks or Stellar Crown?

I restarted the hobby 2 weeks ago. Completed my 1999 base set master collection I started when I was 10 now I'm looking to start a modern set. I impulse bought 2 booster boxes of Surging Sparks before even seeing the cards. I'll wait for the rest of the set to be revealed. Fingers crossed for more OG Pokemon in awesome colorful art. Is 2 booster boxes a good starting point for chasing the SIR and Gold cards or would you recommend buying more? If pre-ordered there was 13% discount making it 129 USD / 98 GBP per booster box so I figured it pays to pre-order. I hope that's a good price at least!

Stellarcrown has 2 things the bulba and squirlte with 1/13 are not that rare. Then you have the crystals which are better then terra forms but not. as good as mega evolutions. Surging sparks is a big set but, we have to see what other cards will be in there. Latios/Latias won't carry a set on there own.

I ended up buying a booster box of SC before I heard of surging sparks. Don’t have enough in my budget to buy another one, so…that’s okay with me lol. I’ll just buy the smaller products for that one

Idk. To me stellar crown looks like the worst set since obsidian flames. The art rares are mid. Reprints of bad venusaur and blastoise. The ace specs are very underwhelming. The list goes on. But that is just my opinion on it. I'm glad someone will be getting some enjoyment out of it. Personally, I'm not ready to scoop up surging sparks, but I can definitely see that it shows enough promise to warrant investors putting their money there now that twilight masquerade has gone up and stellar crown is the upcoming set. It's like of you're playing "higher or lower" and your opponent flips a 3.
