I was all set to get the 16-25 for my travels later this year, but I've decided that I don't need 2.8 as much as I need 35mm. I decided that the super sharp 16-35 F4 PZ would add another dimension to my "collection" of lenses - only lens with PZ.

Bought the Samyang 35-150mm F2-2.8 because of your videos! What wide angle zoom would you recommend to fill the wide gap of the 35-150mm? Edit: I mainly do photography :D

Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 = $580USD Tamron 20-40mm F2.8 = $520 Sigma 16-28mm F2.8 = $695 Sony 16-25mm F2.8 = $1,080 Sony Vario-Tessar T* 16-35mm F4 = $750 Sony 16-35 F2.8 GM II = $1,835 Sony 16-35 F2.8 GM I = $1,350

I have a Sony a7cii in my basket for god knows how long... But I can't find a zoom lens with a focal length of 14-35 - 16-55 without looking into g master territory, I want a 16/14 at the wide end for architecture, and something long enough for portraiture, but nothing exists! Zeiss 16-35 is only an F4, sigma 16-28 looks good but 28 being too short, sony just make a 16-55mm g for full frame already!!

Feel like people criticised the 24-50mm for having a small focal range when one of the most beloved 16-35 has less of a focal range and then this 16-25 is even less or a range. Personally I really don’t like wide focal lengths but if companies are starting to make odd lengths, a 35-85 f2.8 would be a dream for me!

24-50 and 16-35 both have about the same range. It's not about the difference of the numbers, it's about the relations. 50mm is around double of 24. 35mm is about double of 16. 16-25 however, is a much shorter range. If 35-85 f2.8 is a dream for you, maybe you would be interested in the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8

Was going to consider this, but the fact that you need to zoom out the barrel to zoom out, this is not the lens for me. Its an annoying thing. Ill go with Sigma 16-28 instead

The Tamron is one of the worst wide-angles I think I have ever owned. Not sharp enough, edge distortion, and poor contrast. Pixel peeping reveals a lot. I went all in on the 16-35mm f2.8 GM and the difference, although it may not be quite twice as good, is absolutely incredible with far more utility.

I'm going too sell my Sigma 14-24 2.8 for this lens or the 12-24 f/4. The Sigma is fantastic, but it is double the weight of the 16-25.
