If you want to build your career in VLSI, Jamia Millia can't help you in any way! They lack lots of industrial exposure. Are you a B. Tech or M Tech student? If you are planning to take admission in B. Tech, you can take but don't expect any placement in VLSI. To get placed in VLSI, you either have to do some industry oriented course or join any training institutes. Hence it would be best for you to use your B Tech days for exploring College Life and prepare for GATE. And if you are planning to do M. Tech, its my humble request, don't do that. You will regret after 2 years in terms of placement, Instead invest time in GATE prep and go in some IITs or NITs. Thank You!

@@aaliyanaaz7413 See there are 2 career options for now according to me. First is to enter the Semiconductor Industry and do a job as VLSI Engineer and second is what your mentioned is IES(ESE). Since you are in first year, then nothing to worry about. Explore as much as you can till your 2nd Year, all the possibilities. After that you can choose between VLSI or IES. No doubt, IES is also a very good career option, but it solely depends on the interest of individual in which path he/she want to make their career. Being in JMI, give you ample amount of time to prepare for these competitive exams, as there is less academic load compared to other colleges. No, i am not from JMI but i wanted to study at JMI, but later i realise that it won't help me to excel my career in VLSI so i left it. I am B. Tech passout in 2024 and currently preparing for GATE.
