I would also suggest not getting into trucking just for the fun of it. I will encourage people to have a goal. Having goals for me has motivated and pushed me to keep going.

I agree. Definitely have a goal in mind when you get into trucking. Along with an exit strategy when you want to finally get out of the truck and move on to other endeavors.

This is reassuring to see. I’m in the nuclear industry but have always wanted to get into trucking. Several things have made me decide to wait but I think it’s time for me. I have done extensive research on TMC & think I wanna go with them

@@EruditeTrucker I’ll probably end up doing that. Did u have any doubts or regrets coming from the corporate world? I went to school for the nuclear field and i kinda feel iffy spending so much time in it to up & leave

I only regret not getting my CDL sooner in life. It's opened a lot of doors for me professionally and financially. I didn't have any doubts other than wondering about my work/life balance if I went over the road. The way that I look at it, I can always go back to corporate America if I want to and vice versa with trucking. With a degree in a good field and a CDL, you can make great money, white collar or blue. It's the best of both worlds to me.

How much money can you make doing flatbed? Which pays more flatbed, reefer, tanker, van?
@EruditeTrucker Жыл бұрын
Earnings really depend on a multitude of things, such as the company that you're with, how long you stay on the road, where in the country you are, and the actual freight that you're moving. Generally, flatbed and tanker pay really well due to the added risk and skill required.

Local tankers pays 100k plus depending on where it is.

But when the economy get back right then having that cdl will be gold 😂

Diesel mechanics are good, too. We have to have people to handle truck maintenance. 🧔🏿👍🏿🔧🚛
