This is so helpful. It seems so simple but the amount of information and misinformation thrown around can make topics like this so difficult. Summed up very well, thanks!

Have any of you seen any studies of older racers in their 50s and 60s, and how many days of rest are recommended before a regular xcmtb race? Any advice on where I can find info pertaining to myself : 62 years old and racing about once every 5 weeks, training 2-2 1/2 hours per day 6 days a week riding two times a week in the gym at night, and finishing top three on podium most of the time. xc racing. No health problems. I'd like to confer with fellow successful xc racers near my age. Thanks!!

Hey William! Our TrainerRoad Forum is a great resource for chatting with other members of the TR community! There are plenty of successful masters racers in there that would love to share their knowledge. Here's a link to a thread that may interest you, but feel free to start your own thread too! forum.trainerroad.com/t/am-i-too-old-to-get-to-4w-kg/12472

i started working out mondays wednesdays and fridays on workout days i eat 2300 calories-2500 how much should i eat during rest days

Your body is still doing a lot of restorative 'work' on recovery days, so it's definitely not the time to cut calories or operate on a deficit! Replenish in a way that *feels* like what you need, if you're hungry: eat! There's no perfect answer, but like Chad advises in this video, your body is really good at giving you cues for what it needs!

But your body can get the nutrients it needs from its own fat and glycogen stores... unless you’re like 6% or less body fat.

Perhaps this splitting the long episodes into topic-based snippets is good for gaining audience/followers, but on mobile devices, it is making my life very difficult to follow what videos are new and what is not, etc. Just my 2 cents. Overall 5 stars all around, long-time user.

Thanks for the feedback Tuomas! One way to easily keep track of the full-length podcasts is using the Playlists feature. This allows you to view all of the full-length podcasts in chronological order :)

can i intermittent fast on my rest day
@TrainerRoad
@TrainerRoad 3 жыл бұрын
Depends on the work you've done leading into that rest day, your body may be asking for a LOT of calories in order to repair and recover from the work you've just done, and if you dont give it what you need, the rest day may end up being more hamful than helpful!
