Ecdysteroids from spinach, quinoa, asparagus and mushrooms (apparently effective even in microdoses as small as 12mg a day which is probably an amount present in a meal rich with these foods) should be effective at helping build muscle. Food for thought, literally!

If you're talking food, then a variety of colors for anti-oxidants will also lead to a diversity of sources of fiber, which is good. Eating more types of fiber is health promoting. "Eating the rainbow" is a bad cue.

While phytonutrients are real and have demonstrated benefits, would it be worthwhile to take phytonutrient supplements?
@adomasjasiukenas14252 жыл бұрын
Great question, I was reading some studies on these. Whilere there are some benefits on taking phytonutrients for sports/recovery but it seems that those particular studies showing positive effects are funded by supplement companies. Just like collagen. Meta analysis show that these supplements actually do not contain a lot of phytonutrients, flavonoids because plant matrix is destroyed during manufacturing and not a lot of these chemicals end up in supplements. Buy a half of kilo of blueberries and dark chocolate, that would be a better choice 😂
@primrosed23388 ай бұрын
First off supplementation should be used to fill deficiencies. Second phytonutrients work best in synergy. Example Beet Kale Salad with an avocado oil based vinaigrette.

@@Huffman_Tree Don't think you'll find much nuance with someone who's also skeptical of climate change or stresses over "wokeness" 😂. The doctors have spoken about veganism several times and supported many facts in reference to the lifestyle. Frankly Dr. Baraki went above and beyond and called out the carnivore community who have a habit of lying, exaggerating and being hypocritical with even their own standards. All of this is blatantly obvious to anyone who's solely interested in the facts but as you can tell even in response to my benign comment, it triggers too many people. So I give extra props to the docs for saying it as it is.

Any thoughts on estrogen/testosterone foods? For instance flax seed vs pomegranate
@primrosed23388 ай бұрын
Big sigh. Those who promote only dietary solutions hardly tell you that in order to have a significant impact just from nutrition alone. You would have to consume that product in excess for a long duration of time to really see the effects. Its not like if you eat a block of tofu on occasion its going to significantly raise your estrogen levels. But if you eat only a tofu based vegan diet, then yes, you may have some concerns at that point.
