Thank you for your information, having a pair of S1 pro but didn't know the 1/4 out would reduce db when using TR instead of TRS. Great information!

I want you to know that I think you are doing a great job. I have a bose s1 pro and I just bought an Alto Busker for my son because he just started doing Trivia in some local bars. Thanks for what you do

Positive viewer comment: I bought 4 of the s1 pro speakers and sent them all back the battery was a big fail for music playback and voice I only got 3 hrs max and when I bu a product I expect it to work as stated, I waited to see if something else would come out and the Buskers I bought 2 and the battery life is amazing, the sound is loud and clear and the mixer is far superior as far as features, I am buying 4 more my experience , I am 15 gigs in with these , they are loud and portable 4 hrs and the battery doesn't come off the green

I use them for fill speakers when doing stage plays, sometimes one as a center fill or to the left and right of the stage on the side at low volumes to give a more natural surround sound, I control them from aux outputs on my stage mixer via xvive Bluetooth transmitters and receivers. I use more than one for easy listening music at outdoor events such as wedding ,or speaking engagements , I use them as stage monitors for musicians ,and singers that don't need a whole lot of sound.. They are so versatile and sound great.

I like your videos Bill. Very good points. I love portable speakers. I am Brazilian and I have a pair of JBL Eon Compact. We don't have all options available in US in a good price here in Brazil. I am very impressive with Alto Busker. The main need for me is to take everywhere, even in a flight (like you did with your CP8 video). I do some missionary work I my take a flight and a boat to go to some jungle locations over in Amazon river area. I only use a JBL wireless microphone (JBLWIRELESSMICAS1) very portable and batery powered and accoustic guitar. Sometimes we have about 50 people maximum. I don't need much bass. The implrtant is Vocal clarity, low noise, good volume/SPL and very long time batery. I have a question for you considering the standard/eco baterry mode: You did the meansuring of about 103 db SPL in standard mode just before clipping, if you switch to ECO mode, how much SPL peak you got? Have you test it?

No, I never tested max SPL in ECO mode.Interesting idea, never thought about doing that.

Hey Bill! Have you seen the. EV ZLX G2? I'm interested specifically in their new 8inch. It's AC powered, but would still be portable, yielding more power than some battery powered counterparts.

Yes I've seen it. If you don't need internal battery I think it might even be better than my favorite QSC CP8! EV louder at 126dB, lower extension down to 50Hz, best App out there, Bluetooth, many effects, same price $500. EV is 3 lbs heavier at 24 lbs and QSC has a 6 year warranty vs 3 years for EV.

Viewer comment: In response to some folks posting that the Bose S1 Pro wasn't loud enough, especially in the vocals department. Since loud and soft are relative terms I decided to measure actual decibel levels. The app I used is called Decibel X. It's a must app for all musicians. In this video, my vocal (Shure SM 58) volume is set at 3/4 with 1/4 reverb, which I changed to 1/2 after viewing this video and my instrument volume is at 1/2. What I discovered was this battery operated, 15 lb. speaker is not as loud as my my 39 lb. JBL EON615 which puts out 127 db max. SPL or my 41 lb. JBL EON One line array which puts out 118 db max. SPL. NO, this unit puts out only 103 db peak (did I mention it only weighs 15 lbs.) What does it all mean you ask? SPL stands for Sound Pressure Level and it's the primary objective unit of measure for output (NOT Watts). Continued exposure to SPL above 90 dB can cause permanent hearing damage. Remember that dB levels drop the further away from the source... the goal is to have a level of 85 dB max where the listener is, thus the reason these units have a rating of over that, which gives you some head room. I also discovered that this unit is ideal for small rooms with 40-50 people or busking. It's size and weight make this unit very, very convenient especially for solo or duo musicians/singers.

I literally had my wallet out with a 20% off coupon from Musician's Friend. I just know I will regret the 31lbs weight. I have a 27lbs QSC K8.2 that is louder and easily run off an external power supply. I put the wallet away!

Love Roland !! I have a pair of the BA-330's...however , I'm old with a bad back and knees...so am trying one of the Alto Busker's...12lbs as opposed to 30lbs is a huge difference...I can't see the Alto outdoing a BA-330...and I also like real batteries which can be replaced during any performance...the Alto is stated as getting 20 hours after a full charge...(pretty damn good) The Rolands are by far better...enjoy them while you can...

Great speaker but a little heavy without the latest App technology. My original drum amp was a Roland KC550 which I still have. Quality equipment, built like a tank!

awesome video.. so Ive been looking for a large bluetooth speaker for backyard parties, and im just now starting to play guitar again.. both of these speakers seems like they are very well made compared to others in their price range that are made of cloth and only act as a speaker not a PA of any sorts, I guess what im asking is what speaker would you chooose if you could only have one.. just for some solo guitar playing.. and backyard listening, keep in mind I have a couple of bose products and they have always been very well built, noise cancelling headphones that i use every day are in great shape, I got a hand me down bose wave system that is also pretty great for what it is, especailly considering its almost 15 years old... and I have a small bose bluetooth speaker and with all of these items the build quality is excelent and the bluetooth is second too none compared to the other 5-7 spearkers/ headsets that have come and gone..... but I honestly have never been a fan of Bose, I dont know what it is, but they have a certain sound signature that isnt terrible but just doesnt agree with me... I wish I could listen to them side by side somewhere. but if you could give me your opinion on the one you would have over the other let me know... sorry for such a long message.

If you can handle the 31 lbs, large size, and more $$$ EV Everse 12 is the best for your dual purposes. Next down new Bose S1 Pro Plus or EV Everse 8 are the best. I prefer Everse 8 but they are very close. If you love the Bose sound go with the new Plus. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZ-yiqWoq76IeZo

What about pairing the Bose with an Electrovoice blootooth12” then you’ll have a great pair. So long dude.

That would make a great combination, but the 12" might overpower the Bose. I have matched up the S1Pro with the EV Everse8 which sounds great!

I have two and they rock and why would you pair a busker with a s1 pro, I had 4 s1 pros and the battery can't compare with the busker.
@WWeiss-nv5vz
@WWeiss-nv5vz 3 ай бұрын
To get the best fidelity, you would pair them. Busker adds a cleaner high end/Bose smoother midrange, better bass, 120 degree tjhrow.
