Do you need to have custom entrance music made, or could you license a commercially available song from an artist or band you like?

I definitely think getting your own custom theme song is the way to go. In wrestling, it’s all about standing out and getting over, and having your own custom made theme song will help you tremendously.

UK version, ensure the building you're wrestling in has a PRS licence then you're pretty much good to go!

Best decision I have ever made, make my own entrance music with my producer friend. Its stand out from all the others wrestlers, its original and fit the caracter perfectly. Just do it!

I've asked Amorphis and the agent was a d- - - . The band themselves was more than happy. I was sad but contacted people to have my own custom theme made. It's a crucial part of your character IMO. Part of the total package.

I had a similar experience with Pomplamoose. They had so many agents and handlers around them, the band's wishes were almost moot.

@@TilWeMakeIt Yeah, I was actually for the lack of better words ''marking out'' that one of my favorite bands wouldn't mind me using one of their songs but then the almighty suit and ties ruined it for me. Custom is the best way to go for sure, IMO. You have to worry less after. It sure can be costly but the more pro it sounds and feel, the more it helps you later. ''Invest now, make profit later'' type thing.

I host a Dungeons and Dragons Podcast and we reached out to the band Gloryhammer to use a song as the theme music of our show. Ends up the band had heard of our podcast and were glad to let us use the song as long as we gave them credit on our website and end of the show. On the wrestling front, I help with A/V Production for a wrestling promotion that got notice from a record label our DJs music license didn't cover how we were using the music and we had to change everyone's music to something off one of the generic royalty free music disc. For any promotion, I'd recommend have a catalog of royalty free music you can pull from, because in my time in wrestling, you'd be surprised the number of guys that show up to shows without music, or you cannot use the music they want use for one reason or another.

I know a lot of ppl today are using custom themes and I dont get it, like theres tons of potential for using licensed songs, sure its a hassle, but its not only cool to come out to what you want but its great awareness for the band/artist as well, choosing one would be painstaking for me cuz theres just so many songs I think would be great lol

ALWAYS get it in writing. Make sure you sign, and they countersign, and you scan that final document and save a copy.

Even if you do the right thing and pay for the rights to use an artist's track, you'll find many others who use the same music, and don't pay anything, and couldn't care less about licensing.
