Hi Max again! I do have to admit that this Concept 5 is a hard one to play. It is huge and you cannot compare it in any way to EBR 105. Playing with this Concept, you just wish you had picked EBR instead. The clumsy turning is the nail to the coffin. You end up trying to place your tank by reversing and adjusting and byt that time could have been hitten already two times... jeez... The gun is OK, but the DPM against some lEO OR stb-1 IS HORRIBLE AND YOU WILL FEEL IT IN A GAME AND IT IS A BIG TARGET. One other tank remings me of this a bit, namely T10 Sheridan. You just have all other tanks in the class beeing way better and you for sure aren't in any shape form a scout tank either. While you are trying to get the tank in to a reasonable position arty is already intrested in you. I cannot play with it and use it only to some sort of long range support as the gun is OK, but who wants to sit back and snipe with a wheeled tank??? With EBR you feel way more comfortable. This is one of those tanks that after you everything else you may want in your garage. I am just thinking if someone starts with this line to grind the first Tier X tank, this experience can test your intrest on the whole game in a bad way.

Hi Max. Retired Army Captain here. Hope I can help with some of the explanations. I will try to loosely define the terms. An "Armored Car" is basically a wheeled vehicle with thin armor with some kind of gun, and a crew to man it. These are very uncommon now, but were more popular between WW1 and WW2. The AEC would be a good example of this. (I think the French Tier 6 wheeled vehicle also qualifies). A "Tank" is generally considered to have tracks, armor, a turret, some kind of gun, and a crew to man it. An Infantry Fighting Vehicle (or IFV for short) can be either tracked (like a Bradley or BMP) or can be wheeled (like a Stryker), has some kind of gun, may have a turret, and has not only a crew to man it, but also has an enclosed area in the back to hold a some combat troops who dismount out the back and fight dismounted. Typically this is a squad-sized element that is assigned to a vehicle like this. An infantry squad ranges from 8-11 men. Hope that helps!

Great exlanation. I might wanna add that overall the word "tank" is not well defined and can be applied to many types of vehicles although they ar very different in appearence and function. In addition, the definition what qualifies as a tank can be very different in other countries as well. for example as a german, "panzer" refers to other vehicles than the english "tank" although its often the translation for each other. An example is the German Transportpanzer Fuchs which is wheeled and has no turret nor gun and is solely a armored transport vehicle, still carries the word "panzer" in its name. i find the turret aspect most confusing of it all since the Stug III famously has no turret and was not referred to in WW2 as a panzer but a SPG. Jagdpanzer 4 has Panzer in its name, has very similar tasks but is neither a SPG nor a Panzer but a Jagdpanzer which is its own category. In short: "what is a tank?" is very hard to clearly define and depends on language, time in history, function and many other aspects

The biggest issue with these armoured cars, is the ones that existed in real life had axels that turned, so they were very agile, they were designed to be Recce vehicles but also to be agile enough to fight in built up areas, in game, they have a larger turning circle than an oil tanker, it was an obvious attempt to differentiate them from the French wheeled vehicles, with no thought put into any sort of historical performance of the vehicles.

Guess i've been called upon. Largely, the designation "armored car" is no longer in use as it was predominantly a ww1-ww2 only term, it has been replaced "armored gun system, mobile gun system" etc. IFV's are largely separate and are almost always tracked vehicles with autocannons to support/carry infantry, the concept 5 fits more in line with being an AGS, as it looks like it cannot carry infantry but has a role of hunting tanks. (do note that different nations doctrines do affect how the labels are given, i'm going off a more or less neutral, what everyone seems to do observation.)

I agree. If they give it dpm and mobility buffs, it’s just going to be a fat leo on wheels. Make it have something special, like 490 alpha + give it the best medium tank gun in the game. I think it’s a fair trade off for having a shit and sluggish platform.

​@@Rob4ix This. It's already a giant, it wouldn't make sense for it to have the spotting ability of a Leo. Also we don't need any more medium-scout hybrids. But imagine a 440-470 alpha gun that can go 70km/h. It could be such a fun tank. Also a very unique one.

@@grzybowy1680 Well the Leo has a 105mm and hits for 420 alpha. So at least 460-480 should be fine. Although in this game there is barely any correlation between caliber and alpha. We have 105mm with more alpha than some 120mm guns.

I’ve been playing the Concept 5 for a while now, and I find it enjoyable for how it performs. I realize that my opinion might not be common among players of this tank, but I truly enjoy using it. However, I wish we had received the Lesta version of the Concept 5, which would offer much better mobility.

In military there are types of vehicles : tank, aircraft, armored car, self propeled guns, armored transport etc... Also there are roles: Tank destroyer, assault tank, Anti aircraft vehicle, artillery etc... Armored car is type of vehicle, wheeled car with upgrader armor to withstand small arms fire, can be used as infantry support vehicle, mechanized transport and even tank destroyer, something like concept 5 would be tank destroyer role on battlefield. For example pz kmpfw 7 Tiger was heavy tank but it's job or role could be argued that it was first ever MBT. MBT is basically all round tank with direct fire capabilities. Stug3 was SPG due to not having a turret but acted as assault tank or tank destroyer on battlefield. Sherman firefly was ofcourse medium tank but it's role was tank destroyer due to high velocity APCR ammuntion which was one of few that could challange tiger armor. SU-152 was SPG which later acommodated tank destroyer role, Soviets realised that 152mm HE rounds were effective against panthers and tigers and commonly blew their turrets off, it gained nickname "beast killer". Churchill had role of infantry tank, due to slow speed it marched together with infantry and supported them of course it's a heavy tank. IS-2 was breaktrough tank as role but it was heavy tank per design. Large and massive gun on moderately mobile and armored tank allowed soviets to move frontlines faster therefore it's role was breaktrough tank. M3 stuart was light tank but was used as reacon vehicle. I could list further examples but it could spark your inrigue enough so that you go research how your favourite vehicles were used and what were their roles on battlefield.

The turning speed drove me up the wall. Don't expect anything close to an EBR. Think more of a cruiser or a battleship. As far as Concept 5 goes, if they wanted to go with the "big boom, lower DPM", just give it 450, 480 or even 500 damage gun. 500 @ 12s reload = 2500 DPM, still 300+ behind Leo but at least you could slap people for 500. Batchat has higher base DPM than this and it has a clip! Sure, Concept gets better with a rammer but this will give you the idea where you start. You don't even have the nice British HESH rounds like Cent AX. I understand WG didn't want to have another EBR but they went too far the opposite way. And I still think they should have been designated this line as TDs instead of mediums.

The tier seven (for me) is honestly the highlight of the tech tree. Great gun and can double it as a light tank. Quite fast as well. High risk and high reward gameplay

and naturally... I watch this the day after I bought the tier8... the tier7 was a lot of fun... I was shocked at how well it could scout... and the gun reminded me of when I started 10 or so years back and playing the little 2lber, 5lber and 57mm guns that just kept popping off rounds that did almost no damage but if they let you shoot them long enough it would add up... I also was amazed at how great it was for critical hit missions... running the skill that increases crits just made it even better.

As someone who has grinded the line already and has a skill issue on Concept 5 (77%~ MoE, 2 marks rest minus AEC), I thoroughly enjoyed this line. Heck, even my favourite line I think.

these tanks are good at driving forwards and backwards. when you find positions and timings you can use that in, they are fun and can do stuff. personally i run hardening on the concept5 at least, just to reduce the repair time and have a bit more room, because yes, everyone will hit you. at least you can just drive away quickly.

A tank has tracks, an armoured car has wheels and tyres. Both usually have turrets.

Tier 5 & 6 aren't bad at all. Tier 7 is pretty good because it doubles as a light tank and is excellent at flanking attacks and can escape from a bad situation quickly. I wouldn't recommend Tier 8-10.

Ignoring outliers: - tank: tracked, heavy armored vehicle with powerful canon placed in 360-deg rotational and fully enclosed turret intended to take direct fight upon nearly any other land target (Yes, Maginot line is excluded). Yes, Panzer I/II do not belong here - just various historians needed to backup idea of Germany invading France or Poland with some superior tank force. Various specialized forms and classes exists. - Infantry fighting vehicle - similar to Armoured Personal Carrier, but often with smaller infantry capacity, better armour, gun that can be used for attack mounted in turret and nowadays armed with AT missiles. Usually tracked, not as armoured nor armed as contemporary tank. Intended to transport infantry as well as support it in combat. (yep, bastard of tank and APC 😂 ) - Armoured Personal Carrier - tracked or wheeled vehicle with armour designed to withstand small-arms fire, arty fragments, eventually frontal arc can take AP from 0.50. Often armed with just rifle-cal MG or .50 one in either small turret or ring with some plates protection around - just for self defense. - Armoured car - wheeled lightly armoured vehicle with dedicated crew and light armament used for i.e. reconnaissance (by fight as well), convoy guard, patrol duties etc. Note - with technological advance of today, many vehicles are better armoured than in description, can be armed i.e with AT missiles and so on. So for basic definition it is probably better to look into Cold Warr full-steel-only era. Then there are then many other vehicles like self-propelled artillery of all kinds, assault guns, tank destroyers etc. - some of them just relics of the past. As well as many specialized vehicles for i.e. airborne troops or marines that have to sacrifice some properties in order to be usable.

X-Cold War Armoured Vet - armoured cars were before my time, and only the Ferret in pics, and I believe we had one on display outside of HQ. With this line, I only have the prem GSOR and the "Salad"in 🙃😉 I like them; great sniper tank, and can double as a scout if needed - it has 35% cam and almost 500m viewrange 😉 I know some folks don't like to drive them, and the steering is weird, hard to turn. I found if you take your foot off the "gas" aka the W key, then turn, you can make decent turns. I drive the same in the EBRs and Bourrasque...

To define a tank. A tank is an armored fighting vehicle which is designed to take multiple main cannon hits from a vehicle of same class. An armed vehicle is used for recon and anti infantry combat. And will not survive engagement with a main battle tank or tank destroyer. A tank destroyer is made to destroy tanks but in most instances. Is not designed to duke it out and take multiple hits from a vehicle of same class

If wg really wants to make the british wheels different from the EBR's, is just give it more alpha and better dispersion values. Like maybe 490 and Leo 1 kinda gun handling. that at least should make it better (you still have no camo, bad mobility and a BIG box to hit).

There is not so much behind the word "tank", its only that after a certain weight tracks are needed. At the very start an armoured car was really an ordinary car with added armour. Tank was a misnomer (like watertank) to keep secret the project of buiding what after kept on being called a tank. Stopped grinding the british wheeled line at saladin, did not enjoy at all. I do like grinding the chinese line quite a bit however.

Concept doesn't have DPM, armor, agility, good premium shells, good HE shells, camo and some perks and equipment do not work for it but in return you got wheels and some accuracy. Apparently same balancing factors were nowhere to be found when WG introduced BZ

I dont know about tier 9 or 10, but i use the speed to run to a spot and quickly back out once tanks are lit. Straight forward and reverse as turns are like trying to dodge the iceberg on the Titanic. I'll slightly move over a few meters on a ridge or bush line and pop out again. Always get nice spotting and a few snap shots to boot. Im gonna try the 9 as i watched a guy sniping from mid range, and it looked fairly solid. I won't grab the tier X as the 9 gets the their X gun and tier 10 isnt for me!

Ya know I always thinking about 3 marking the FSV Scheme A for a while with only scout equipment like using bond vents, bond optics and bounty exhaust I did try with the T20 and finish 3 marking it with 99 battles (seriously the T20 view range is legendary I can literally out spot light tanks and even the Bourrasque)

What really bogles my mind is how many fictional british wheeled vehicles WG just made up, they could have used so many that were real but no, none of these apart from AEC are even real. Seriously there are like 30 of these throughout history - Daimler Mk II, T17E1, SARC mk IV and mk VI, Concept 3, Ratel 90, Fox, Eland 90 mk VII, G6, Rooikat and so on. I really thought we would get G6 as tier ten, that thing would be dope, but no we cant have any fun, better nerf progetto again next time.

Like, hearing your opinions about the tank could have gameplay in the background with you just doing a voiceover and showing stats/upgrades on the screen when needed, but a separate replay section for tier V-IX will make those videos a drag

Hell no! I stopped after the FSV. I'd give the Staghound a 4 and the FSV a 5 and that's being generous, horrible experience but if you don't mind just sniping all the time they are playable. No point in the line, the 9 and 10 may have good guns but why play a horrible tank with a good gun when you can play a much better tank with a better gun in the Leo's? I suppose if you like a challenge.

all wheeled are not tanks they are recon armored wheeled vehicles. for dpm wg does not know how to balance dpm, when tier lower tiers have similar dpm than a tier 10, if a tier 5 has 2438 dp,m and then you have a tier 10 with 2897 when a 5 tier lower tank is similar to the tier 10 something is wrong with that, if a tier 5 has 2400 and tier 10 has 2890 shouldnt a 5 tier higher tank have 50% more DPM since its 5 tiers higher, but wg developers have that russian math,
