I enjoy all your formats! You guys are very comprehensive & honest. I am 77 and trying hard to follow your prevention strategies! I agree it difficult with Medicare, unfortunately they will pays for actual diseases vs prevention, even though prevention is cheaper in the long run. Keep up the great work, your philosophy will prevail eventually!

Such awesome info. I do have a question I wish someone would address. That’s higher A1C 5.9 on Ketovore diet, but I have good fasting insulin at 2.8 I heard red meat allows RBCS to liver longer causing false higher A1C. What are your thoughts?

Calories are still king for weight loss. I still don't buy into low carb for weight loss. Even when taking into account insulin promoting fat deposition, Don't believe it's that great an effect. I have gone easy, fast and hard on weight loss, while 5 10, 185 pounds, to 150s pounds twice, to 140 another time. On non processed very high carb bananas, apples, veggies even carrots. No sweat, no hunger, no exercise, no muscle wasting, easy. Its calories. Now low carb for arterial inflammation, 100% agree. You had me on 140 sugar levels daily for decades. High triglycerides. No more convincing needed for low carb for arterial health and inflammation.

Just learning all this stuff as a 79 yr old woman whose husband has been on statins - very high dose for over 20 yrs and just had 2 heart attacks and a double bypass. Can you tell me if it is worth making major changes ie will it make any difference?

Love the channel but was disappointed on the sensationalistic approach on supplements. If you know how to purchase, what formulations to look for and using precision nutrition /genomics, supplements ARE safer than drugs and sometimes the only things available to help someone (ie, gut issues, nutrient deficiencies etc) without doing more harm. There are many manufacturers who go over and beyond GMP. Please get educated on this topic because many of your viewers are already there and this was, quite frankly, disappointing. Issues occur with poor education around supplements which lead to poor choices and then poor outcomes.

I’m sorry to have to tell you that your gibberish banter is a terrible distraction to us viewers. I was really waiting for this presentation to go on line to get information on resistance starch. I have watched the keto guy and others seeming skeptical at first but coming to the eventual conclusion that it does work!? It is something I would love to work for me but I do have serious doubt so this banter is just constant and distracting. I have learned nothing because if it. Jose is not helpful to Dr brewer and the lady seems nice enough but has nothing to offer and belongs strictly in the office doing Medicare papers. I was thinking about calling his office but now now. I think dr brewer is a very good and smart doctor but …….seriously, just get to the FACTS !!

@marionalbergo1146: get a glucose meter and test the resistance starches yourself. Myself it makes no difference. I get high insulin spikes regardless of resistant or not. I think a lot of people just want to believe they can have their cake and eat it to.
@marionalbergo1146 Жыл бұрын
I have , and I use , a glucose meter but it is tricky if you add fiber to the pasta meal (which should be a good thing to do normally). I found that the spike after 2 hours was only around 130-140. But it remained at that level after 3 hours - not good. I don’t know if that is because of the fiber which is good OR it has something to do with the resistant starch itself?
@dontfit6380 Жыл бұрын
@@marionalbergo1146 sounds to me like resistant starches aren’t so resistant. If you cut the starches I would imagine your glucose will return to normal within the 3 hours.

@@dontfit6380 First, do you freeze them first - not cooled ie bread products pasts etc? As for various breads this works better if toasted etc, not necessarily Dark. Try this and get back to me. Thanks
@dontfit6380 Жыл бұрын
@@ethimself5064 I no longer eat any type of breads or starches for that matter but for the sake of science I gave it a try. Now I no longer remember what my glucose would spike to when eating regular bread or pasta. My glucose spike with bread that was toasted and frozen was 150 an hour after eating. Now because I don’t remember what it would spike to with fresh bread it’s possible that this worked but that spike was far to high for my liking.
