I think it's never worth to leash, now when all junglers can clear healthily. No matter the jungler or the bot lane, bot lane is often decided by the first two waves and any disadvantage snowballs so much harder than the possible advantage of a junglers clear speed.
@ryandgarland7 күн бұрын
If you leash, then the jungler can hit the scuttle scrab before the enemy makes it there at 3:30. If the bot lane doesn't leash, then they need to do something with that time instead of standing by the tower.

I love leashing, so that I my opponents can get ahead and then my jungle refuses to look at my lane despite the fact that I've been pushed under tower for 12 minutes straight, but surely they'll gank soon

Watch Zen'Kih's "Kindred 3:16 blue clear (1 smite) [14.17]" Finishing your clear at 3:16 means you have plenty of time to get to the scuttle that spawns at 3:30, you could even squeeze in a quick gank if a lane is pushed.

Instead of a leash i like my laners to just cover for invades. I always start at raptors alone so i dont really need a leash since i play champions with some aoe in their kit like fiddle, briar. voli, belveth, noct and so on. Plus its better to not rely on leashes since there are laners that will turn their eyes and ears off and just wont leash u no matter what.

It seems almost never worth it to leash for the lane prio lost. If I’m lucian nami or similar I obviously want the prio, but if I’m _against_ lucian nami I still want to be in lane to make sure they don’t get to bush cheese us lv1 or zone me from the wave any more than they already do. Because THEN lane is over. Give an inch and they will take a mile
@fluffow267517 күн бұрын
Exactly, leashing was necessary when jungle was hard to clear. Now all champions can clear the jungle healthily. Bot lane is often decided by the first two waves and any disadvantage at these two waves can snowball the lane and the game out of control.

Leashing is the only thing left reminding me that League Of Legends is co-op game still where you play with and help other human player. Everything else you do is presented from "beating your opponent" point of view. It's like "if you don't, your opponent will do this objective and get priority, so you better react or you will not get your numbers bigger".
@Ranked_Journey9 күн бұрын
League is already super complicated, and there's a real drought of junglers, so I don't think reducing the skill expression of one of the hardest to learn roles. Also if you look at Iron games, people still struggle, and while the 4:00 clear isn't ideal, it's better than getting executed on krugs.

As a Diana jungle main I don’t need a leash, my early game is weak and I’m always looking for vision so I can clear one of their corners or support from invades to keep the enemy starved and reckless. At the beginning of the game I want my bot lane there ready to back me up while I place a ward or to keep the enemies from pushing on me. I want them back in there lane asap cause say I do take the enemy top jungle theyre most likely going to come to bot whether It’s my jungle or lane
@Ranked_Journey9 күн бұрын
My argument against leashing unconvetional or slow clearing junglers is that you shouldn't play a champion unless you can do your clear on that champion without a leash, or adapt your pathing. And if you can't do that you shouldn't play that champion in the jungle if you want to win, just like you wouldn't play Yuumi Top if you were honestly playing to win.
@didacosred942716 күн бұрын
This would be almost impossible but IMO Riot should aim to make leashing unviable, it's almost a chore and It pisses me off when a Kindred doesn't know how to kite and the buff starts going after me, the melee champ and I get punished for helping my stupid team mate. Or when I get Guardian and my jungler doesn't get the fuck off me and wastes my rune so I start lane at a huge disadvantage. I only play draft but Riot should prevent those scenarios at all costs especially if you have no idea who is on the wheel of the Kindred Main that loses super hard against a guy that played Kha'Zix 6 times in the last 20 games. (Yes I hate Kindred, it's a huge coin flip) Yes it's a team game but the worst problem League will ever have is that it's impossible for the match making to truly be skill based. I'm ranting because this last month draft junglers have been the most underwhelming in a good while and I already hated the role because it's unfair how much it influences the game and Riot keeps making it easier to perform in it. I don't care if it's a "fantasy", it influences literally every other role meanwhile if you don't get a fed top laner you just have a beefy guy that serves as the support with damage instead of utility.

leash is better when setting up an invade play. but securing lane priority through laning alone is overall better than getting lucky on a gank and proceed from there. Leash is basically putting one lane behind and putting jungle ahead by a small margin. It always depends on player skill, and lane priority can be severely impacted by the ability to dodge skillshots and spacing, which sets up a gank. Ultimately even if I think I have a poor match up I'll try to get lane prio. I'll never give free lane prio. I'll either force the enemy to gank me if I'm winning, or bait the enemy for a countergank. the first 8 minutes of the game will basically define the next 16 minutes of the same game and they could end right there in one or two plays. In my opinion, relying on leashing is trash. but with the appropriate early game strategy it could be useful, but it will still be a double edged sword.
@misterragger238917 күн бұрын
if your are setting up an early invade play you should probably just skip a camp. That's definetely better in most situation than to concede first wave prio and levelups with it
@Ranked_Journey9 күн бұрын
Raptors into invading is the new most reliable invade stratergy, otherwise, you could do Raptors > Krugs > Red and invade their red side if they're a slow clearing jungler and you think they started on the blue side of the map.

Third, somehow. I tend to leash if people ping for it because it keeps morals high but that's mostly lower elo or casual norms. I do agree that we lost something but I do hope the future seasons coming will change this stuff up a bit. I like the skill expression in jungle so adding something like maybe making the healing a fixed rate so kiting well becomes that much more important? I actually used to like Jungle a lot more when there was some kind of outplay potential where I could just be in an objectively better position after my clear. My jungle roster has always been invasion/dual heavy stuff like Kindred, Lee Sin, Zed, Kha'Zix, Talon or Kayn (I'm sure there were AP champs too, I just can't think of names rn) where I can move quickly and if I do get a lead in my clear I can invade to steal camps or just kill the other guy. That's not really working the same the last few years and I've shifted to playing mid and top more ever since. I enjoy the feeling of being better than my laning match and getting to go "Hah I beat you cuz I was the smart one" which often comes from being better at managing level 2 and 3 in lanes and in the Jungle it was exactly that, clearing your camps just that little faster so you would be in their jungle before they got all their camps. This next season is supposed to be more fight orientated so I do in fact hold hopes for this to change in some way. Even if it's just something like making all the jungle mobs stronger.

Since 99% of the players do not know brush control, poking, harassing, sustaining, lvl 2 control, etc it's better to leash early than to win a lvl 2 and then just waddle up and down because you're silver like the majority of the players. Like people here speak of lane prio but fact is that there is no lane prio before dia or so and 99% or so players are below that. People love to pick up terms from streamers and use them for whatever thing they wanna do without understand it. For some reason, junglers still struggle majorly early on and a leash helps them more than a laner afk laning for 2 mins (but being on lane early to do that) So what do I do? I always invade because of the chaos that ensues. You don't have to get a kill, just poking or maybe even getting a summ is good enough. After that I leash when I'm bot until the buff is around half hp.

I leash my jungler. I feel like it makes them play into my lane faster(the famous level 2 top gank). Im in the midrange elo. If I don't leash some junglers will just explode and start pinging me. No need to risk that

I really hate being leashed these days. I play Diana mostly, for the love of god let the almost always stronger enemy jungler at least guess. Also don't come "help" with dragon when I try sneaking it so all enemy laners react and bumfuck me in dragonpit! Yes low elo.
@Ranked_Journey9 күн бұрын
I think you're underestimating "low elo" players. Also getting priority from the enemy laner not being in lane is very real, and making both top and bot be late to lane. There's also the aspect of getting cheezed, or zoned of exp if you're late to lane.

Except, if they're leashing you, that means you're weaksiding them by pathing/clearing/squencing away from their lane, meaning you're intending to play on the opposite side of the map, as you can only make aggressive plays when all your camps are off the map and can't get counter jungled.
