But currently no retirement visa available for new applicants and hasn’t been for sometime. No date has been set for the opening of the MM2H program. So, it can be a great place for short visits but that’s all.

English being widely spoken is one of the most attractive things about FIREing/retiring there. (slight pedantic correction: KL is sorta like Washington D.C. ie. it's not exactly in the state of Selangor but in its own Federal Territory)

Actually in Greater Kuala Lumpur (the Klang Valley) has over 200 malls with more opening every year. Malaysia is number 4 in the world for tall skyscrapers after China, the U.S. and UAE. And has the 2nd most complicated highway system after China. Complicated meaning complex and many.
