Thank you! We've always had pets and I've grown up with them. Now, one is 11 yrs old, (our cat) and the other is 14 yrs (our dog). They are family and we love them. So, it was me, my mom, dad, siblings and our pets. **ALSO, I may catch your virus, cold or flu but in 14 yrs., I've NEVER caught anything from our 2 family doggies or 2 family kitties.

When I had dogs, I would let them sleep in the bed with me. They were cuddly and warm and we would bond that way. My pets will always be equal to me. It's even to the point where if you had to save me or my dog, get my dog out before you get me bro! 😅😂

True, a dog and a child are two different things. But is it so hard to believe that someone would spend an extraordinary amount of money to save a friend they've know for years? I have a dog that I've had from 6 weeks old, and she is now in her teens. I had my English Bulldog 3 years before I had my son. I literally thought of my dog as my child... until my son came along. There's no words to describe the amount of love I have for my son. Do I still love my dog..yeah, but it's nowhere NEAR the love I have for my son.

Before I got my two kittens, I could totally relate to Adrienne. I used to side eye people treating their pets like kids, and dressing them up in clothes. I'm unable to have kids now so my kittens are my little family. I love them dearly and they've grown on me. I have a slew of nieces and nephews, but I know the distinction. Animals are lovely companions, but at the end of the day, they aren't people. Although, it's funny how as humans we (some of us) treat animals with more respect than our fellow man.

Adrienne... imma have to disagree with you girl. My chihuahua is very much LIKE a child to me. I say like because i am 21 and dont have any kids but i care for her the way i imagine a mother cares for a human baby. lol. She DOES have her own bed but sometimes she's cold or lonely and cries to get on my bed so i put her up. I feed her at a set time twice a day, i brush her teeth (dogs breath can be horrible!), bathe her, wipe her paws when she comes from outside (i got white carpet and dont wear shoes in the house so we aint playin around over here) i get her annual vaccines, she takes daily vitamins for small breed dogs, she has a regular vet she sees when she gets sick (thankfully doesn't happen often), and when I'm gone for long periods of time she usually has someone looking out for her. The ONLY thing is when Jennie mentioned the 14k for dogs cancer treatments. My dog came down with mast cell cancer and was in a lot of pain, even AFTER cancer treatments he would not even be cured... just more comfortable. treatment costs a lot so we unfortunately had to put him down. its never an easy decision to make.. so in THAT, TO ME, animals and humans are different.

Adrienne has NO concept of how much you can love your pet. My cat IS my child. Quite literally. You do not have to give birth in order to have a child. My darling pup was almost ten when I had my human children and she was and still is my first baby and love of my life! never ever would I have changed the way I treated her or loved her any less just because I had children. because I knew it was going to be such a huge change and stressful experience for her I made sure I was extra attentive and gave her lots of TLC i also made sure to keep everything the same for her from her routine to where she slept & the time we played and went for walks. Anyone who would do any different in my opinion should not be blessed with the unconditional love of an animal, they are the only beings in my opinion who really do display _true_ unconditional love and the least we can do is love and treat them as they do us 🐶❤😻

i think that it is very possible to love your child as much as your dog, but in two different ways. does that make sense? like the bond between parent and child and fur parent and fur babies are without a doubt different. BUT to say a dog is less because its an animal does offend a lot of people including myself. i had my pets before i had children and the bond we shared is so strong considering how long they were in my life. and its even stronger now when i see my children connecting and bonding with them. nothing makes me happier. so i understand that there is a DIFFERENCE but coming from a true animal lover, i dont ever want to see the day where i would have to pick because i love my children and pets (who are like my children) with all of my being. DIFFERENTLY, sure, but the magnitude of love is the same :) i think everyones on a spectrum when it comes to their feelings about animals. so with that being said i can understand people who are extreme with how they treat their pets and i can also understand people who wouldnt take things to an extreme level. what i just hope everyone can agree on is that pets are very much deserving of love and care even if its more minimal. :)

You see, I have an African background in my family so to me, it just doesn't make sense to even life in the same house as a animal at all. In my head, they belong outside. (That's an African viewpoint). Now, I grew up in a western country (Canada) and they do keep dogs all year long (especially during winters) and many times I went to my friends's houses, the number of dogs and cats that I saw kind of traumatized me a lot. I admit dogs can be cute but whenever I was walking around, I either see them or hear them. When it comes to animals with babies, I can't even. I see it as inappropriate, off-limits. I love my cat so much, he is my baby. I don't have children. However if I did I would not get rid of my cat. People think that they love their pet equal to their child. I think it's not that they are loved equally but they are loved uniquely. Because if they absolutely had to choose between an animal (no matter how loved) and their human child they would choose their human child. Humans and animals are not equal. But the emotional connection we develop with our pets can become so strong that they are like our children (LIKE being the key word). If I was financially able to and my cat needed expensive medical care I would indeed spend it, if God willed it.

SimmyZBalla It was very offensive. They acted as though animals were nothing and not worthy of special care. They obviously are clueless regarding the bonding between pets and families, many with kids. Many pets live indoors and sleep at the foot of moms', dads' and kids' beds every night. These kids and their families love their four legged family members and they don't send them to doggie hotels for 3 months because they messed up. Maybe the dog needs training, some attention and affection, or just needs to go out for a walk to potty. And Adrienne seemed callous, uncaring, insensitive and clueless....and I was offended and disturbed by her apparent ignorance regarding pets and her lack of compassion and sensitivity.

That is crazy i love my dog like my Child. They have feeling's like people do if you step on there paw they cry out in pain and no what love is and when they are not being loved.. Some people just can't read dog's like other's can if you don't feed them they get hungry... They are like toddlers in a lot of way's if we don't take care of them they can die. Adrienne, I am disappointed in your ignorant statement. Some people do not want to have kids, and prefer the company of a friendly dog. Animals do matter just because they cannot speak, it does not make them inferior. Obviously, a mother is not going to love a dog more than her children. A dog or a cat is still a family member. i usually dont comment on videos but i had to on this one cause reading some of these comments below were annoying me. i find it so ignorant that people are saying this is a "white people thing" its a personal perspective kind of thing. i love and adore my dog and animals with all my heart. i dont think people are crazy for loving their pets as much as their child. it is a being they take care of, love and share their lives with. just because they're not "human flesh" doesnt make them a lesser being than ourselves. we all (living beings) play a role into this world, whether it be a president or a therapy dog or even just to balance out the planet (ecosystem). animals are amazing creatures and dogs are truly the most unconditional loving beings who share such warm compassion that have won my heart over forever. i will always love my dog as if she were another child of mine, except shes furry and barks (:

so people r saying its ok to love ur baby whom u brought to life less than a dog whom u picked up at a pet shop because that dog was cute? any parents that r not ready to love their children unconditionally and wouldn't make them their first priority should not give birth to a child, because u decided to bring that child to life that child didn't, and that goes for all the parents who neglect their child,love their child less than their pets, unsure about if they can give that child a good life or give birth just to drop them at a orphanage. because its painful to know the people who brought u to life dont care about u or dont love u unconditionally. and if a dog and ur baby is the same then go get one more dog instead.

I agree with Adrienne. Pets are not children. No matter how much you love them/they love you, they're still pets. I believe that animals should be loved and cared for, but to compare them to your children is just not right. Even if you can't have/don't want children, that's fine but your poodle that you bought at pets mart is not the same as bearing a child.

I have 3 cats that I love so much, they are my babies. I used to sleep with them in the bed but I started closing my door because sometimes they are vomiting and stuff and I need to make sure they’re clean first before letting them in lol. They’re my babies. I cry/feel terrible when any small thing happens to them, like minor things. But at the same time, I know if I had a child it would be an even more intense bond, that’s just natural :P

I Would say that me and my animal friends are a team. I will treat my dog like a dog, not a baby. The dog wants respect just like we do as humans. I would love to have children and a dog but let's be clear, EVEN STEVIE WONDER CAN SEE THERE'S A DIFFERENCE! I understand that people can develop an emotional connection to animals once, or even before they are bought/adopted. There is nothing wrong with that because they deserve to be loved and nurtured too. It's your responsibility to take care of them and keep them in good health. I think the responsibilities are the same for a baby, the attachment is different. For those who have pets and no children, THEIR PETS ARE THEIR CHILDREN. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BOTH, IT'S DOUBLE THE WORK! I agree with them, I would not allow my dog in my bed, does not mean I don't love him/her :-)
