It’s really not my first preference. I have a strong bias but the most Nigerian men I know are really not open minded as far as doing adventurous things and are open to other cultures/experiences. The ones I know aren’t bad at all... they are just traditional even as Nigerian Americans. I just want to marry outside my culture (I’m Yoruba and love it) and merge cultures!!! I feel like I’m about to marry an American though 😟

I am hybrid literally but according to Nigeria classification "I am Igbo". My dad is Igbo and My mum is Yoruba. The language barrier and tribalism issue is real but thank God for His mercy. Food wise, I am more accustomed to Yoruba meals than Igbo meals.

Interesting! 1st of all, you're a beautiful woman 😊 2nd, I'm falling in love with a Nigerian man who's from Benin City. He's explaining to me what his entire name means. He told me his tribal name from mother's side is Ayodele and mom is Yoruba. His dad his Ewaen. His English name is Tyler but he prefers me to call him Ewaen (Eh-wine). He said he loves that I say it correctly. Now why is that he listed Ewaen as his 1st name on his ID? Anyway, your video is helpful. I haven't dated any black man, not even a Nigerian- but he's the sweetest guy I've met. Hope he's true to heart. I'm in the USA and he's still and Benin. We talk everyday. Seeing each other soon! I want this to work out so I'm learning what I could about him, his famolyand country before I see him in October 2021. 🙏

The greeting style for both culture confuses me sometimes. I grew up in a Yoruba environment, as a girl I go on my two knees to greet elders (Yoruba culture) on the other hand in the igbo culture you don't have to knee to greet elders. The first time I knelt down to greet the elders they were looking at me strangely till someone explained to them that I haven't been around them(igbos) before.

This video was amazing! Loved it!! I loved what you said about your husband about his identity primarily being rooted in Christ first. Also, that you kept your name so that tour kids and future generations can track their lineage. Culture and tradition is important to preserve, but God has different ways of doing that. Ultimately what is important is God's will.

Well, I'll say base off our culture and relationship lifestyle, we tend to fall in love quickly and want to bring the woman within our friends and family irrespective of where she might be from, notwithstanding this isn't the case for everyone who professes their love online because some of them are just to either want to brag about you to friends and family or just wants you as a visa ticket off the motherland, whichever way make sure you tell him to take things slow and steady and if he's still love/marriage bombing you in a short while then bid him goodbye.
