Maple Land is run by only 2 people from what I heard in KMS. It's almost impossible to ask them add global to their work load. It'll dampen the updates and attention to the korean server. They simply don't have enough developers or time to port it over. Artale will only continue to improve. Plus Artale has permanent cosmetics pass, whereas maple land will make you pay for cosmetics once a month, which is a huge rip off

This is inaccurate.. they already released a statement. They will not port the game over while Maple World's Global is in a soft launch state as there are "limiting factors", and that a global launch is a possibility as they know there is a demand for it, but not before they release their next few patches in KR. They do have the resources to port it over. You shouldn't just talk like you know things when you don't. Based on their statement you could assume they are already translating, but on a low priority. Korean's know how whiney the West is, they probably don't want the pressure.

@@TyeCozMusic Haha fair fair. Tbh, I would be down to try Maple Lands if the majority of the population switches. My main beef is I heard the freestyle pass isn't permanent in mapleland, which I think is a great addition to the current Artale game. Also, if Artale creates more character slots that would be a game changer.

artale felt jank AF... for the fist few days. Its objectively worse than OG maple, but to be fair I got used to the UI and controls fairly quickly and I'm having fun. One observation though is that the development team seems incompetent. I get that they are focusing on pushing features first, but it seems like they don't care about obvious existing issues like: 1. Channel size (I get this is a Maplestory Worlds restriction, but Maplelands managed to achieve 100 per channel so idk) 2. Anti bot measures (again this might be a restriction of Maplestory worlds, but their anti botting measures are more or less manual investigation) 3. No multiple chars per account and no NPC storage lol 3. MANY unaddressed bugs within maps (portals don't work, certain areas don't render your character properly, quests don't finish properly) 4. One of the most frustrating experiences bringing a party from Artale Lounge -> PQ

I'm very conflicted as I recently burned out on a 1x/1x/1x private server of OSMS after getting a bit past level 10x. I don't like the way artale LOOKS, it just feels so off. I also don't love the balance changes or higher rates. But I AM excited by how many people are actually playing this. My hope is that MapleLand will be worth the wait and by then I'll feel ready to play again anyway.

Honestly, I'm waiting for a dev that's not Korean. The reality is KR devs will always prioritize their own region over global. Even if its just a small team, that's just how it is for koreans in specific. I'd rather a Western Dev create a server and we have a direct line of communication with them.

@@IminsideErmom From most MMO's I've played mainly kr/jp ones, the playerbase that gets the most attention is always the home region, more so with koreans. Keeping the Korean fans happy is more important to the devs, while Global is seen more as a cash cow. Most of the updates are catered towards home-region complaints. An example, Lost Ark had dps meter in the West for 2years, created by a Western Dev. Someone in Korea made their own version go public and KR's complained where it was immediately patched out in both regions. Maplestory KR's complained reboot progression was too fast, and it took away from the reg servers, REMOVED Reboot. FFXIV, JP fans felt classes were too difficult for the raid mechanics, and simplified/homogenized many of the classes. I don't have anything against koreans or jps, and it's fine if they focus on their home-region but that's exactly why I want a dev that's Western.

@@SavageToast2 which is just not true with maple or lost ark even. Koreans complained that the west got WAY more free stuff than they did and they got the harder end of the short stick. The biggest meme in Korea after nexon being greedy scumbags is that KR server is a test server and global gets the polished product after the KR plebs had to weed out all the bugs and greedy mechanics. The removal of reboot was because of two different cultural approaches to spending in video games. Many westerns won’t put hundreds each week for a cube, but Koreans do it because the market is larger and demand for carries and reselling item has more value. And wow players in US and EU were complaining about how wow mechanics were way too hard since one of the shadowlands race to world first took months and they brought it down. I think if you just want a western dev, it’s fine to not play mapleland. But you’re gonna be waiting for a long time

played mapleland KR and artale KR. First played Rona then artale and enjoyed it despite the jankiness (which was worse at kr launch) stuck with artale even when lands came out. But the server had alot of announced rollbacks and unexpected roll backs. I even had two instances where i lost items completely that i had before the specified timeline for the roll back, and the devs asked for a screenshot of my inventory for me to get my scrolls and alt items LOL. after the second time, i just left. Wait for lands or a polished western osms. I wasted my time on artale so much and the balance is fuccy wuccy later on. itll amaze you how much difference a fluid physics and polished UI will increase your enjoyment and reduce fatigue in long hour grinds. Stay safe out there. Ill be playing VPN lands until a dedicated western server comes out o7
