The delay you are talking about when initiating combat is the delay pulling out your weapon. By default the game automatically sheathes your weapon after certain actions like talking to someone or opening doors, picking locks etc.. and also if you are not in combat for more than a few seconds. Uou don't take it back out unless you manually unsheath it. I use a mod called "sticky weapons" that will either keep the weapon out or sheathed unless you manually choose to sheath or unsheath it, removing much of the automation and minimizing that delay to attack. I found this addon when I came back to the game about a month ago.

I wanted to touch on what you said five minutes in. I think a lot of people who love TES and don't play ESO, don't play it because in the end, we use the game as a platform for modding. ESO doesn't lend itself to that at all. I also took massive issue with that even though it's elder scrolls, I really like being able to interact with the entire world, ESO kinda breaks that immersion. For me, I tried new world but it suffers from the age old problem that Runescape does, you're competing with other players or bots farming the same resources and if your time is limited, farming becomes a joke, top that with the need to collect hundreds or thousands of materials for upgrades and after all that....I just kinda lost my love for it. At least with Runescape you can hop servers, you can't do that in new world

I get where you are coming from but myself coming from years of WoW and other games have found ESO MORE immersive than most MMO's out there. Course I play on PC where I run like 8 mods lol
