There is so much good lore/history in the WoW story without having to add new "hidden" continents every single expansion.....I think people would love new reasons to stay in Kalimdor/Eastern Kingdoms/Outland etc, I mean why cant you just introduce a new "big bad" or villains that set up shop in Silithus or Arathi, etc would also give them agency to rework the old zones

That's coming up, if you had watched Metzen's introduction of the World Soul Saga at Blizzcon last year. One of the expacs takes place on Azeroth proper. But new zones are cool. The last true expac to take place in Azeroth was Cata and nobody wants that again.

It's dumb but it's the same as any other whale type stuff in game. Tokens, mounts early access.. you're only scamming yourself everyone else gets that stuff free. All these mounts are now Twitch drops or trading post.. gold comes easy... early access is totally pointless the season hasnt even started

Classic WoW was the closest a video game has ever come to the original style and feel of DnD, and that’s what I loved so much about it. It was an incredible open ended grind, but the sense of accomplishment when you completed a goal, was amazing. And doing it with a dedicated group of like minded people in guild was even better. And yes, a part of me would love to feel that again. But that time has passed. The game is different, and to be fair, I’m different too. I can’t play the game the way I did 15-20y ago. Just like how I’m not 15 with a players handbook, a bag of dice, and a 2L of Mt. Dew in my friends basement any more either. The moment has passed. Modern WoW isn’t bad. The combat is very good, many quality of life changes have been made that make playing casually much easier. The stories and style went woke and nearly broke the game. Not gonna lie, it was brutal to watch. But at its core, WoW is still the best of its genre. And if we get a new dungeon master (or perhaps an old one comes back *wink) who tells more stories like “dragon bad, assemble team, go kill” instead of “let’s examine the dragons feelings and see where we might have crossed his boundaries”, I think WoW can recapture much of its former glory. I’m looking forward to seeing if this X-pac is the one to do it.

You’re defo 40+ you’ve got more priorities to worry about (I hope) than if someone wants to play a game early, cuz news flash this shit happens all the time

I always buy the epic version anyway because of the free month, mount, hearthstone, pet, etc. Early Access was just a bonus.

I recall a time people were invested in a character her name was Sylvanas. Being honest after the conclusion for Sylvanas story right when we could have had more modern character growth now that both of her sisters are back and how trash shadowlands was personally it's so hard to want to come back to wow even if they are moving into something better.

I’m cautiously stoked tbh, Dragonflight was decent but wasn’t enough to really hook me in but so far everything I’m seeing with The War Within shows promise. That’s speaking just to what I look for in an MMO but I hope this may be the beginning of a much needed turn around for WoW

It was great for me because I was a monster of a kid and 25-0 constantly in lobbies from Blacks Ops 1 - 3 and MW2 all day baby. Such good times. Nuke town baby let’s go

@ 19:45. Bro the only Reason I still play ESO is because of the story. I play through every single new patch. I play wow for the smooth gameplay but if they began to tell a good story I would do the same for WoW.

I mean, I get it, but you helped those groups when you were already helping them, you were considering them, of course they would let you help them. Then, when you choose someone else, that would of course be seen as an insult thanks to the mistrust between the factions in Shadowlands. It isn't even that hard to understand the way it works. So many people are just aping Asmon chat and calling Anduin a puss because they have never experienced PTSD. I hope they get to understand it some day, the hard way. People are really just aholes and don't stop to think about things, they just want to pile on memes. Then again, a large majority of people replying are 3heads.

If you care about story, you cant just let past go yourself. I dont think that will work what preach want to do, forgetting the past is like watching lord of the rings but only return of the king. The one who must let past go is blizzard and make wow 2, because they stuck with those old characters what old wow players dont like those character(they are memes like preach said) and new player cant care about them because new player expirience suck and there is no way to expierience old stories in game to know those character.

The gameplay needs to be FIXED, why the f' do we care about the story??? Literally the biggest problem with wow is that there is NOTHING to do at level cap, aside from group content. That needs to be fixed. The story of a game is a BENEFIT not the solution.

Sorry the way the game looks these days is just sucha turn off, just looking at the streamers with all their addons its just a huge mess, It feels like you walked into a Horder dirty house that havent been cleaned for 100rds of years. The way the game feels when you hit a monster/mob/Or player just feels meh and looks meh. Back in the day Classic-mop at least the game felt good even tho it always was unbalanced. But remember a perfect balanced game will always be boring.

Okay so I'm gonna say it. One of the biggest issues with WoWs story is that its average target audience are too dumb to grasp a good story. And Blizzard has to cater to that. Often people can't grasp the simple concept that the ingame characters don't have access to WoWhead and datamining. Spend an hour in Taliesins twitch chat during lore discussions. It's an interesting interaction between two kinds of consumers It's absolutely rediculous.
