The problem with this test is that you are looking at burst damage in isolation. Nerfing any class because of this may severely affect their overall playability. Blizzard has a history of nerfing classes so hard at times that people stop playing them.

the difference between mages and the rest is, that the mages require a ramp up. So in reality they aren't doing that damage in those 3 seconds. but the warrior just needs the CD's to do that damage

Its kinda weird that all the classes are so uniform in their kill times. The sustain dmg classes kill just as fast as the classes that are traditionally burst classes.

Bursting and Sustained DPS should have similar ttks imo. Some classes are better doing continuous damage, some are better finishing off the 30% hp player. I get what you mean but makes sense that for 100% they take similar times.

Burst damage doesn’t mean much on a low HP target. It all depends on critical hit chance. Someone who is unlucky might burst in 6 seconds, but the same person with 100% critical hits could reduce it to 2 seconds.

I know the druid hit hard AF, but he got combo points on the target dummy and ran in fully buffed. Not saying it shouldn't be looked at but keep in mind you wont often have this happen to you. You'll likely at least have the druid open on you or someone close and you could react. That damage was wild still.

U can burst much faster on affli is you stack nightfalls. Just jinx them of the UA global. And use your 3 instant casts with a dark glare and it’s probs sub 4. Actually if you soul swap before you free up a global for even faster burst with the soul rot or haunt on a dummy as well. Burst is pretty wild but it does need stacks to compete

I think that all ranged classes burst dps should be lower than the burst dps of leather wearing melee classes. They don't have much mitigation so theyre defense is removing the threat with offensive tactics. Ranged classes can just kite free damage. In order of conceptual design: leather melee - 4.0s cloth ranged - 4.5s leather ranged - 5.0s mail melee - 5.5s plate melee - 6.0s This makes sense to me logically. mail and plate melee should have tools in their kit to deal with leather melee

The difference with melee damage is that it's affected by armor, a cloth user should die in like 1s and a plate user in 4 seconds from that trampled up druid. Im pretty surprised that this was not mentioned by anyone.

The feral ramp up can take almost 10 seconds by itself same with a few other classes,these types of videos are cool but in a arena setting for you to get everything lined up then smoke someone in 2-4 seconds in not likely especially at a higher skilled rating and a lot of these people playing like you said are different skill level so classes that look “slow” might not be as slow as a Mglad or even 2200+ players

I feel like the one-shots in the video were not accurate. In reality they are much faster. It was almost as if people were purposely taking longer so their classes/specs won't get nerfed. They didn't even use the target dummy for ramp up like they did in Palumor's one-shot video a while back. It's blaringly obvious when many classes are builder/spenders that their spending phase would be where they power is at, so why would they NOT ramp up and build on the dummy first? Think about it. I also feel like many of the tier lists may need to get revised since melee classes seem to be owning BGs in TWW in early access. Ret Paladins are insane in BGs and keep getting listed low on tier lists. Possibly this has to do with the whole "Pre-made Group" thing but it was also happening in Battleground Blitz when played with fully geared characters.

Hybrid classes should never have higher burst than a pure dps class. Don't nerf Mages, instead buff Hunters, Rogues, Locks. Then slight buffs for DH, DK. Nerf Feral Druid and Furry Warrior.

Feral's more squishy than mage so, no Xaryu no. Mage is able to burst so much due to cast timers as compared to fury. And fury no sustain just raw damage. Plus all are ramping. Also feral's a very timed chaotic/hectic play style.

Arcane is not s tier dude if 2 melee sit on you and press saves on arcane surge u are doomed. Ofc arcane has one of the highest skill caps so it would work with r1 players but it’s not a really good experience even for decent mage. Frost is much easier and overall better
