That's a man of taste, who plays both TQ and Grim Dawn.

Just started this game a few days a go and oh my. I can see myself sinking hundreds of hours into this! And knowing that the sequel is on the horizon is getting me hyped! I’ve currently hit a wall in act 1, the boss Alastor. The fact that I can’t even damage him in the slightest is what I want in an ARPG. It means I have to go grind it out somewhere and comeback stronger. So if anyone knows what weapon type he’s weak to and where I can grind to find it please let me know 😆

You can cheese him as a Rouge. Stand by the entrance door with a fire element bow and Roar and have at him. Hes almost impossible at that low a level with his leech and slowdown plus gank fiends when you get up close. I dnt mind doing it cuz ganks in this game are tough with such slow combat and lack of AoE (at lvl 18).

Ragdolls are fantastic, makes the combat satisfying. Much better than hand crafted animation that just fall where they die, no matter what they are blasted with.

I think the only thing this game has over Grim Dawn is the setting. Coming back to Titan Quest after a playthrough of Grim Dawn really just makes me appreciate Grim Dawn that much more. That said, I still had a blast on my first couple of playthroughs with the new DLC even if it felt bs at times.

To me personally, games like Grim Dawn and Van Helsing appeal more design-wise too. Still, I'm excited for Titan Quest 2, hopefully, it's going to be great!

It this the current Anniversary addition? Post 2016 I think. It combined the TQ with its first expansion and added a few things. But each expansion added gameplay aspects I think? I picked up the later expansions but am in two minds about playing them. I though the Anniversary edition was decent enough when I played it years ago. I only found Grim Dawn to be decent too tbh.
@CtrlAlexDel4 күн бұрын
True, it's the Anniversary ed. Grim Dawn left a lot more positive impressions, as I've said in my review in separate vid. Btw I def need revisiting this game before the TQ2 comes out 🤔

You need to play this gem .

Titan Quest is one of my all time favourite games and probably my second most played (after Dota2). You chose to be an archer.. the most boring of classes and play styles in any game.. Try again using warfare or dream mastery and you will have a whole different opinion on how the game feels.
@korbandallas8931Ай бұрын
Or play both as a Harbinger. Great class.

If you like gore in your aRPG, you won't find it here, but if you can skip past that, you'll be playing one of the best aRPGs there are.

the map in TQ is SO much better than Grim Dawn Grim Dawn map is so bad imo

It’s a build issue. Rag doll physics make hits feel weighty. It is not even close to a souls like. You get two classes with incredible synergies. Grim dawn has no item highlight and just fall in place as a lump on the ground. Sounds like you didn’t make it past a couple hours in.
@CtrlAlexDel5 ай бұрын
I progressed to Egypt and completed a number of missions there, so yeah, maybe it's the build

@@CtrlAlexDel no doubt there’s also a speed up mode that I had no idea about until recently

Titan Quest and Gothic. Best games ever.

I disagree strongly, combat is not sluggy a slow, it depends very on your playstale and firstly on your choice of builds. There is so many options to choose when time comes to choose a second mastery at level 8. Of course the combat can be unforgiving if you do not know how effectively choose to rise up some attributes or abilities in your two masteries. And secondly in option you can choose between three speed of your game overall: Normal, high and very high. But you can also rise up speed of your hero thanks to some equipments( higher speed of yout attacks etc, )
@CtrlAlexDel3 ай бұрын
That's what I initially thought. Which means that the balance of the combat could be adjusted even further. Moreover, the actual combat animations and sounds support did not work for me even compared to Diablo 2 and Grim Dawn (which is more recent game but still). Anyway, I'm really glad for you enjoying the game! And I'm still excited about TQ2, the gameplay footage looks appealing.

Yes you should, but only the original. Anniversary breaks everything and actually expects you to grind xp and gear in already cleared areas over and over again. Anniversary edition also breaks xp gain so you end up meeting the final boss of the original game horribly underleveled. Game is also badly balanced around it's stupid difficulty levels that require you to replay the same game with the same character 3 times. I should also mention that most masteries are useless in anniversary, with melee masteries being only viable options. And dream mastery is still broken even after more than a decade since immortal throne release. The only truly unique appeal of the game that still shines is its visuals. Handcrafted levels of Greece, Egypt, Babylon and China are amazing. Too bad you'll be mostly running around pressing two skills for 26 hours because for some reason the game expects you to manage with just 3 points per level all while leaving giant gaps between skills in the mastery panel.
