Is it true that we have to slow down to learn to play faster? The answer is not that obvious actually. There are specific ways to practice to learn to speed up our playing, but also to learn coordination or independence on the kit, and they involve both fast and slow practice sessions. imo 5bpm increments are the best way to gradually get better.

100% same concept apply for fast kicks. Being relaxed...proper breathing and technique will get you there whatever the bpm you wanna play.

I'm stuck at 90 BPM double bass. I lose control when I speed it up to 100 BPM, my legs stop to get up, I switch unconsciously to ankle motion, but hey, I can't ankle motion yet, so it its a f mess.

possibly get a feel for ALL BPM's to play them all properly. I find 160 BPM to be the most complicated to control 😂 Everything slower & faster then that seem to work out easier. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤔

full leg motion is the way to go at 160bpm. work them hip flexors
