I look at it this way, if you aren't a day one player then this weapon and Aerith's umbrella basically give you all of the debuffs you will ever need in this game... without any overboost... and to me, that is OP. Get it, then focus on DPS or whatever is cool and you will be able to clear all the content in the game.

I also went for cloud weapon and costume but got quite lucky whit stamps so in the end also got Tifas and when sephiroth came out, i decided to go for Aerith outfit for me the 10 hp 10 heal is by far the best outfit she would ever have, this way i can take no problem the buffs that reduce healing potency in crisis dungeons or future dungeon ranking events.

This was a great, informative video. That bit at the end where you demonstrated the power of elemental potency builds? SUPER helpful. I completed one card of the new Sephiroth banner, grabbing the costume since he is one of my main characters, and he always ends up squishy when I push his DPS, as you mentioned. I’m super excited about the weapon’s utility, and I got it to OB1, but I decided to hold off on pulling more so I could see what banner might show up before this one ends. I don’t run Cloud or Tifa, so I won’t be pulling on their banner, but I can probably do the same thing for my Sephiroth that you did with your Cloud in terms of an elemental build. That, and I can swap between his ice costume and this new one as appropriate. Again, great video! Hope you make a video of the new EX2! (If you haven’t already, that is)

Holiday banners will be out soon so my free to play gut is telling me to save save save right now. I'm personally not a huge fan of the new Sephiroth outfit, nothing will ever top Aerith's bikini outfit and Cloud's outfit is just alright (to ME!). I did pick up Tifa's outfit because I didn't have any outfit at all for her and was building her up anyways. It's also a solid looking outfit with decent stats! Thinking I'll just save up and hopefully be in a position to get 2 or 3 festive outfits.

So im able to get my cloud to 2700+ phys attack but he is stuck at about 5.5k hp with my best set up.. how is everyone getting their hp up to 7k and still maintaining damage? Edit( f2p no money spent at all so all just pulls from launch till now on free crystals and event weapons)

I pulled for Sephiroth and right after also pulled for the other 2 banners. I think a lot of people just got brainwashed about Sephiroth being a gigachad DPS cuz idk, for me this weapon looks perfect overall. It's literally the only matkdown weapon you can guarantee because of stamp system, all the other matkdown weapons can be obtained only by pure luck with the help of wishlist. Yeah It can't be overboosted, but honestly if you're using it to begin with you're not aiming Sephi as the main dps, so even at ob0 it's a really good deal imo.

I agree, he failed to mention those poor ppl that didnt manage to pull one of those patk/matk down weapons yet. If one plays Sephiroth as a character one needs to have one copy of it and if not just skipitido it.

90% of the hard bosses are single uni that are immune to debuff, they just did this banner now coz it's OP for the current event but you'll never get to OB it ever and probably won't use it after this event except for easy bosses whoch don't require aoe debuff anyway. Waste of 20K crystal IMO.

Could you possibly make a new/returning player guide for someone who is just picking the game up now, I tried going back to watch older guides but since a lot of the banners aren’t around anymore I’m still kinda lost on how I should be starting what I should be going for and focusing on doing since things like clouds lightning outfit are gone etc. I feel like I’m super behind with no idea how how to catch up to current players

The science of the mechanics and the numbers are quite interesting. The different weapons and their abilities might not seem ideal on their own but pairing them with other weapons opens up more options that can make a winning combination.

I pulled for this weapon just because of the attack animation! Haha. I also liked the special debuffs it does. I got lucky and got 2 copies of it for OB1, which is good enough for me. Good luck guys!

I would argue that in co-op where many people are nobrain monokey mashers for damage, having a support Seph that can debuff, buff, and sub par heal can turn the tide.. I already see that right now. I don't regret pulling to get a copy of this. I'll just upgrade with spare parts if I really want to.

I’m just glad he got the kuja outfit. I was hoping he would get one before I even knew they were gonna do a crossover. The weapon is incredibly helpful, especially with the cetra battle tower and it’s going to always be helpful for enemies that buff their own attack. Completely worth pulling this one imo.

I have to agree with most of what you said, especially one thing. At first I thought it was a little greedy of them releasing one weapon banners, but it does make it a lot easier to get copies, and I think they buffed the droprate of wishlist too, because wishlists were dropping like crazy for me, I finished my murasame, a couple other things, got three umbrellas, had to keep updating my wishlist! Made a lot of progress in that regard!

I saved til all banners were out(still haven't pulled yet though, as I'm gone over the weekend). Sephs weapon is worth it for the debuff alone. Once I'm back home I'll pull up to Sephs costume and then roll on Clouds banner up to his costume. Hoping for a few wishlist pulls as well. But yeah, if anything I'd consider Sephs weapon to be the best choice out of all of them, for the debuff alone.

I'm definitely pulling for Sephiroth's weapon and costume. At first, I wasn't going to go for the costume but dang, he looks too good and I don't have one for him, yet. I got Cloud and Aerith's so, why not Sephiroth's, so they all match? :) .. One critique I have for this game is the weapon descriptions. It's a bit confusing when it's just a block of text. It would be incredibly helpful if they could break that up with a different colour. Like, the buffs/debuffs are a colour, the numbers could be a different colour. Just break up the text a little bit. Would be easier to know what they do at a glance.

The outfit is awesome since Matt is my main healer. I’m nowhere near your level of completion ie streams etc and I’ve had terrible materia luck. The outfit alone allowed me to clear 2 levels further

I’m a big fan of sephs weapon. Seph cloud aerith was already my go to team, but I’d sometimes need to swap out cloud or seph for Lucia or tifa when I needed magic attack down. Now I can keep the same team in and just swap in this weapon for seph. Between the kuja blade and sunbrella finally at ob6 I can cover magic attack/ attack down and def/ mdef down without losing much dps

Great video and to the point as always. :) Sephiroth's weapon is the best F2P weapon of the event. You just need one, and it does the trick. It cheeses Black Waltz and it greatly helps with Battle Tower fights where most ernemies stack buffs and you aoe debuff them. I love this weapon as even as OB1 it already surpasses the utility of the Umbrella. Yes, the Ability Pot R ability is irrelevant, but I look at it as a "debuf weapon that gives 3-8% extra damage when max stance". It also does not nerf your Edged Wings Ice power, so you can put it as secondary in many cases. So, my plan goes like this, here is what I did: Aerith for costume (weapon is meh), Kuja for costume and 1-2 copies of the weapon, and the rest goes to Cloud/Tifa banner, as I already have OB6 Zidane and OB3 Tifa those stack together nicely. But this banner is Whale territory, so it isn't suggested unless one commits to it.

Since I missed on cloud electricity costume I went for seph as my main dmg focus and I liked what you did at the end with cloud pull to complement his kit as your main dps. I'll wait for the maintenance to be over and pull for Kuja costume and work the rest with parts. I feel like this event had great looking costumes as a ff9 fan but overall if they weren't limited I wouldn't have pulled anything at all.. That being said I can't just pass on a ff9 vanity altogether.. I really wanted aerith costume too though but like you said in previous video, she's probably more useful as a support/dps than pure healing bot so I sadly will skip I think 😭 If only crystal prices weren't so outrageous I would have pulled the CC a bit to get the costume and whatnot.. But I'm not spending 30 bucks for a freaking costume, ever.

I'm pulling mainly for the outfit. The weapon is decent but there's so many other weapons that debuff just as well and It kind of doesn't make sense to debuff both P/M att since there aren't really many enemies that attack with both styles. Maybe in future content if they start brining out multi bosses where one is physical and one is magic then it could be useful.

I’ll probably get one copy of the sword and the costume before the banner ends. But for bosses like the ff9 boss, it would be great. Though without overboost, I think you still need defaith on other characters. Yeah, you’re right about Sephiroth and hp. He feels like a total glass cannon cuz practically none of his sub weapons are hp. Unlike cloud for lightening or water. Cloud actually has good hp options that work well with his builds.

My Seph is my highest HP char, i run model 0 and powersoul which both have hp boost, with his costume hes close to 9k lol. Great damage and survivability

You can upgrade the weapon with universal parts. We already got some from past events. Events give 100 and coop shop has 20. Other weapons can be wishlisted so using those parts to upgrade actual limited weapons is the best solution.

Minor correction on info in the video. Whether it's a single weapon banner or multi-weapon banner, your odds of pulling the advertised weapons don't change. It's always 1%. The upside you get is that your five wishlist weapons go from .8% to 1%.

Went thinking this weapon might actually make the Ruin EX fight easier and it turns out it just forces dude from flight to ground with another mob up still so no, it actively makes it harder if you're focusing on healing everyone from the constant fuck damage thta comes in as Seph will use it religiously.

I'd say it makes it easier to survive the nuke at the start. Then you use something like Shinra Blade as your 2nd C ability for m atk non elemental, so you can single target.

Just make sure to control sephi and throw some ruins before he cast the skill. The biggest problem of this game is that we can't configure auto and even Manual use skills automatically, terrible.

Nice vid but I put Anobi as my secondary to give Seph the magic up buffs and hp. If you use the Garnet rod with Aerith you can skip using Anobi, but I would never use the Garnet rod on Aerith. I use the umbrella rod with fairy tale on my Aerith. I think out of these crossover banners Garnet rod is terrible while the Zidane sword is the best one to get. Rank on banner weapons: 1.) Zidane sword - best dps sword in the game at max plus you can ignore elements by just nuking with Cloud. 2.) Kuja blade - best all in one debuffer weapon only catch is you have to keep his health above 50 percent. So focus on hp for Seph he isn't a dmg dealer in this role, but more so to help your team survive with debuffing. Anobi in secondary for magic buffs up and ignore Garnet rod altogether. 3.) Amarant gloves - not great at all Striker is better on Tifa for non-element nuking. I think in the future it could have potential, but so far I'm not seeing enough to support it. 4.) Garnet rod is dead last, but the outfit is extremely good. Garnet rod is used mainly for Sephiroth to prevent using the Anobi buffs for Sephiroth. Just use Anobi instead by having Sephiroth cast magic up on himself. Rank on outfits: 1.) Garnet's outfit - best outfit for Aerith hands down 2.) Zidane outfit - solely used for non-elemental nuking with Cloud. Not much to say here Cloud is the best main dps in the game. 3.) Kuja outfit - actually this is Sephiroth's best outfit for magic dmg, but the Halloween outfit is best for physical dps. Edged wings and Kuja blade both benefit from this outfit. 4.) Tifa outfit - even though I like her outfit it's actually pointless for her main role in the team unless you run her as a sub dps. Normally you would want to run her as a debuffer leather gloves and tiger fangs. So her Summer outfit actually works better for her debuff role. If you run motor drive or sonic striker sure it works here, but you're not using her as a dps or atleast I don't personally.
