This meta-series is the first thing from the new canon I'm genuinely curious about. I always liked the time period between the Ruusan Reformation and the prequels. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is that it contradicts everything I know about this time period, since it's uncharted territory in the new canon. That would feel again like watching the sequels after having read New Jedi Order and Legacy of the Force. Also, I think the design of the clothes and lightsabers looks too ancient for the period it's set in. It looks more like SWTOR than the Republic Golden Age. But that's just a minor nit pick, lol. So my question is this: Would this theoretically fit into Legends? I'm currently reading Legends chronologically and would it feel out of place if I read it between the Bane trilogy and Darth Plagueis?

So far, with some shoe horning in, this could fit into legends. The only issue I have with this new timeline is, like you said, everything feels older. The republic has in the past hundred years started to expand into the outer rim, and the designs for the tech is a little older. Besides this though it fits very well. I highly recommend starting with light of the Jedi. If you still feel kinda meh you can just read the adult books and still get a good feel for the story and universe. With all of this said, the next wave of books will take place some 100-150 years before these. From what I have seen this time change will see another small leap back in technological advancements for the galaxy. This makes me kinda nervous. In my eyes, the legends continuity showed a galaxy that has been technologically stagnant for thousands of years, and I always kinda liked that. Although naturally as time goes on tech gets better, I don’t want to go back a few hundred years and see a galaxy that is completely different.

@@weirdpigeonproductions I don't think that would have to be a major problem. I always liked the idea that the New Sith Wars were the dark age of the galaxy, when technology was at a low point. The Bane trilogy mentions that by the end of the war, the Republic was reduced to the core worlds and parts of the major hyperspace lanes and that in large parts of the galaxy, even the holonet broke down. In the Jedi vs. Sith comics, they even use medieval weapons (although I never liked that artstyle). So havin said that, this could fit into my headcanon. I always explained the similarity between SWTOR's technology level and the technology level of the times of the movied by imagining that during the millennium between Ruusan and the movies, the galaxy had to evolve back to the level it was before the New Sith Wars. Then again, 250 years or so BBY is indeed a bit late for the state of the galaxy you described. I mean in Legends, that was the time when they started settling the Western Reaches and New Territories. The outer rim parts of the Slice and Trailing Sectors had been settled for millennia by then. I think in Legends, Cloud City had been built as far back as ca. 800 BBY for example.
