This is so useful for someone currently looking into renting a space for my business! I feel exactly as you described, like the lack to space is stunting my growth. It’s also amazing to hear how much you pay (thank you for being open about it!) because I have been shocked at how expensive some places are. The only smaller spaces I’ve found are charging around £800 p/month for 400sqft and want a 3 year lease, it’s bonkers! Any tips for finding a space that isn’t asking quite as much? ☺️

It's difficult in the states. 80 sq ft in a coworker space is literally $1100 a month here. I have been looking but for those prices I might as well rent another house and work out of it. I'm sure it's based off the area but here but nothing here is affordable. Even with all the spaces that supposed to be to help small start up business.

Happy studio anniversay!!! Such amazing insights on the pros and cons of having your own studio space! I completely agree with the con side of working from home with 2 toddlers and a 7 year old, because the interruptions are endless, and really discouraging sometimes. So it would be nice to be able to take off for the day and just work! Thank you for taking the time to share your views on it, it's so helpful!! xoxo!

You definitely need an iPad Pro! That’s the best investment I’ve ever done and it paid back in the first month - it’s so easy to do commission, do admin stuff and just have it anywhere you go (I even worked in an airport while waiting to get on a plane) - so it’s an awesome thing for an artist. The Apple Pencil is actually so good that I prefer that to my PC drawing tablets unless i have to do something super large. Though iPad Pro is powerful enough to cover most of the work I do.

Hi emily, I love your videos, I totally agree with you on all your points. I took Bloomingorgeous Planners into a unit for 2 years and paid over £1000+ a month in Over heads in total and then decided to buy a 3 story house and use the ground floor for my workrooms and its the best decision i have ever made. Luckily i moved just before Covid hit and i am so glad i did. My oveheads are now a 1/3 of what they were.

Thank you for this video! My business is much too small to justify renting an extra space, but I currently share a tiny office in my rental house with my bf and it's so cramped! I can't even turn my office chair without hitting his, so I hope one day I can at least progress to my own room in a larger house. You're such an inspiration!

Hi Emily, I've been watching your videos from the very start of your journey and I just love your energy and the progress that you've made is just a massive inspiration but after watching for so long a question crossed my mind. If you had to choose between just having just a Patreon or an online store what would you choose? How do you feel about you Patreon vs your online store?

Happy anniversary 🥳🥳🥳 Thank you for this really helpful video Emily 💝 I am lucky to have a room in my house where I can build my little art studio. I don’t think I will need to rent a studio someday but we never know. ☺️
