Thank you so much for this repeat message. It's my story. Different characters, same situations. My son relinquished his young teen daughters to us because their evil, demonic stepmother was brutal to them. He gave them the choice to leave. Now years later when daughters are grown with families of their own he insists we coerced the girls and talked them into leaving his toxic household. I'm also now leaving this toxic relationship but waffle back and forth. This message gives me courage to continue on with limited contact.

Pastor Mark this teachings are so profound as I have witnessed toxicity especially in the church. These conflicts are even worse within families of mixed races, I had a black friend married to a Caucasian woman the family was small town religious likely somewhat prejudice. The wife's family controlled everything from where to live meaning where they could work to events & holidays...and the control got worse as children were born. My buddy once told me I usually just do what the wife wants b/c of her family...and to keep her happy. He didn't have a good support system from his family and we his friends were not well informed to notice or were not aware to seek knowledge and how to help but in the end he sat in a vehicle with a plugged co2 exhaust and took his life...to this day I think the overbearing extended family made him take his life. At the funeral these people were totally expressionless its like they were glad he was not around.

This was shared here yesterday, but I just ran across it while scrolling through fb. I caught it shortly after it began, and was going to wait for it to be available so that I can go back and watch the whole sermon in it's entirety. I came here and was thrilled to find it already up & available. This message is definitely a much needed on-time word for me! Praise God for knowing just what we need and when!! This is a hard one! It just is! I've been through this very thing with what little family I have left about a month ago. I wanted so badly to see them come to Jesus themselves!!! Over time it became clear that this was being used against me. It wasn't until I had to get honest with myself when Jesus showed me I have been a hindrance to them if anything. By allowing toxic behaviors to continue I was not only enabling them, but even worse I had became a hindrance to them. I was leading them to believe that Jesus was okay with it. I cannot wait to start this and watch all the way through. Thank you for this message here! I greatly needed to hear this!

I like what you said about The toxic family members form unholy alliances because their demons know each other”. So true. We have a family member that is atheist and is into witch cults and satan. This person has created so much strife in our family with drama, lies and emotional assaults. I prayed and prayed about what to do because most Christian’s will tell you to just deal with it and showered them with love. Well, that doesn’t always work. Sometimes you have to walk away from that person in order to protect yourself and your family OR maybe God will orchestrate for that person to not be in your life anymore. It’s been several years of no contact and it was the right thing for me to do based on God answering my prayers. Always pray about what to do. Seek Gods word and then obey what God says to do.

My own story I met a gal @ church noticed the strain b/t her and her family. These folks had a righteous religious complex, I noticed their family was literally all about them, and were pretentious smiling in my face but saying wild mean things behind my back full of gossip false accusations and total disrespect was sown b/t her family and I. I'm not perfect or error-less either, but it felt prideful and prejudicial and we separated, I was upset but considered myself fortunate. The gal later realized her family sabotaged her relationships & sowed discord..her words. Lesson learned & agreed I would recommend to sever ties with toxic potential families even toxic friends. I learned if there is no healthy positive support system if its not building you and growing you but backstabbing confusing hurting or creating anxiety the relationship is not worth it. I learned to also seek relationships with people of greater wisdom and intellectual capacity than you whom are encouraging...much better than to be stuck with close minded folks who fit that old saying "GREAT minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, SMALL minds discuss people." I don't say this to dredge up the past of which is forgiven but to inform and enable these much needed discussions and sermons.

I cut off ties with my sister. She was so upset over it, (or maybe angry) that my other sister and both their kids cut me out of the family. It was not a perfect family to start with. Those two sisters always left me out of any plans anyway. I never knew what a scapegoat was, what a narcissist was… it’s took me 11 years to figure out I was dealing with narcissistic, manipulative sisters. I became a scapegoat. I blamed myself for years for “losing” my sisters. Hated myself. Wished for death. Now I realized it wasn’t all me. I am still healing. It’s best I’m not around them. I have tried to patch things up but the matriarch sister said no one wanted me around. I hurt “the family” too severely. I pray for them but I am going forward by God’s grace. No more blaming myself. It’s not all my fault. The matriarch gives large monetary gifts to my adult kids if they include her in their lives. I struggle because I’m scared she will turn my kids against me. But it is in God’s Hands.
