My mother gave my brother 20 hits of liquid acid one time. Another time she threatened to kill herself in front of him because he wouldn't back her up in an argument. My father left my grandmother when she got dementia and moved across the country because he "Couldn't watch her die." meanwhile my partner and I spent 3 years helping her. When things got hard my dad came back and was shocked she got so bad and forgot him. After she died things blew up and he got kicked out of the house, he stole 18k from my grandfather. Never forget, never forgive. I will be the last of this portion of my bloodline.

Paul isn't God...I'm picking up a bit of sarcasm in this guy's voice but in any case, my husband is a sahd. He was disabled in an accident a few years back and will never be able to return to his previous job as a roofer, nor will anyone hire him with a brain injury and the numerous other limitations he has from his physical injuries. He was riding his bike when a drunk driver in an F-150 pickup truck ran him over. I'm sure Paul didn't anticipate trucks mowing people down when he said that. He provides in any way he can by taking care of the house and me while I work from home. His injuries do not make him any less of man or a Christian. He also buys and sells equipment and tools for some extra income but I still make quite a bit more. Luckily his long term memory wasn't effected. We are incredibly blessed that he survived. It hadn't been easy on him physically or mentally and comments like this from a pastor he respects and has love for is very disappointing to hear. I wonder who God will judge more harshly, a disabled father doing his best to make it buy, or the well to do pastor being unfairly judgemental.

Hmmmm.... it's been years since I've read that verse. However, doesn't the verse actually read, "He who turns his back on his family is worse than an infadel."? Or are you pulling from another verse that sounds familiar?

I give my parents grace because my dad was moving heavy equipment down the siagon river being shot at when he was 19 and my mother was raised by nuns through nursing school until she was sent to Fort Leonard Wood. It's not easy but I have to forgive them because life was not easy. I had it way better than them at every age of my life.

You were completely correct on calling out the spirit of Jezebel at that Men's Conference!! I don't think you should have apologized though because you did nothing wrong. You didn't call out anyone except the spirit of Jezebel!!

There is not such thing as masculinity or femininity. There is no such thing as gender rolls nor authority figures within the houshold. There is no black nor white nor gold people. All of these concepts were aquired through cultural upbringing. In Gods eyes there is just people. God loves each and every one of us! In his eyes we are all equals. So if this dynamic he stays home to care for the house and she brings home the green backs works for these 2 good for them! Who are we to judge! We should love them as equally as God does!

I’m blessed to be able to provide for my wife and kids. But it’s very rare for people my age to be able to support a family of 4 on one income. I have to agree with the other poster here, Mark is a little out of touch here. A young man can’t even afford to live on his own most of the time, much less be able to provide for a wife or a wife AND kids. Times have changed Mark. The biblical principle is forever, a man is to provide. But to say a man is soft or a failure if he’s unable to be the sole provider… 120K is the national avg EXPENSES for a family of 4. That’s way more than most people (man or woman) make on their own. Only people with top 5% of job salaries can afford to live on their own these days. Thank you for continuing to sow seeds of faith into your community and abroad, Mark! God bless

I feel like being a stay at home dad is still providing for his family, not financially but still providing. I would argue a man not being present or not supporting the family in any way (think “dead beat dad”) meets the scripture more accurately in this case.

She is totally judgemental. I was a single mother raising 5 children with NO child support. My youngest two have not had anything to do with me after accusing me of something I did not do. It hurts, like hell, but I did not do ANYTHING to deserve their treatment of me.

No it’s not manly to care about the appearance of your home as a woman would, unless you have a job and are contributing to all those trips to the home decor stores. Your job is to provide for your family. The culture has lied to you.

A careful look at the New Testament shows that Mary kept her vow of virginity and never had any children other than Jesus. When Jesus was found in the Temple at age twelve, the context suggests that he was the only son of Mary and Joseph.
