Oda (Creator of one piece) confirmed that Yamato is a Woman who identifies as a Woman, the reason she pretends to be Oden/a man is because she was deprived of her childhood, ergo is it living now. What I mean by that is this: Don't you remember being a kid and pretending to be your role model, saying you were them? Spider-man, Superman, etc. Her role model is Oden, as he hated her dad like she does, and was also really the only way she got outside information.

Damn, the soft goods definitely bring the figure to a whole other level, it is a shame that Bandai didn't opt for it themselves. It really does feel like they're making these decisions on a whim, or maybe they don't feel it's worth it for side characters?? They just revealed the figuarts Tsunade for the Naruto line, and it just made all the sense in the world to have their green coat be soft goods, but it's plastic. Given they just released an Itachi with a well-done coat, it's just bizarre, and disappointing. Oh well, third-party folks strike again! I just received a Kamen Rider Black upgrade set myself recently, which changes some key aspects of the figure, while also adding effects like an LED helmet and belt, and it's so impressive! The sculpt, paint and finish match the figure perfectly, making the whole package more screen-accurate. There's definitely a fine line being walked with the value of these items, but at least the options are there. Heck, I might even buy this figure now, seeing how much better it looks with the upgrade. Great review!

Yamato is not trans, is a woman who plays pretend to be Kozuki Oden because he was her fathers greatest enemy and Yamato hates and despises her father (Kaido). And its not a skirt, its a pair of pants called “hakama”, i think Bandai made it like a skirt to give the figure more range of movement in the legs.
