Although I have been addicted to WoW, and been playing it religiously for 20 years, I've grown to love ESO more. I'm not even subscribed to WoW anymore and now I'm playing ESO religiously. It is, in my opinion, the best MMO out there.

I see WoW as a completely endgame MMO that's normally only about gear progression or dungeon grinding/ raiding at this current stage. I think there are a lot more MMOs out there that fill the OVERALL need than WoW currently does

@@biggysweatsMMO Absolutely correct. I've played WoW since release and it has always been about end-game. Levelling is a means to an end with zero meaningful impact on your overall experience, whereas in ESO, levelling and building your character is part of the journey.

@@Grovion Funny enough it's the opposite for me. I started with Guild Wars and SWTOR, and I just can't get in the cartoony look of WoW. I always like the FF games, so it wasn't hard to transition to a MMO in the series. They just updated the graphics too.

I actually picked it up a week ago on pc after not playing since 2016 on console, needless to say I reached cp 160 in abt 5 days and have been having a blast, although my biggest "issue" even tho its just a me problem but its the mount leveling system and researching traits for crafting takes A LONG time but I also need to stop trying to speed run the game lol.

I keep watching this kind of videos from time to time trying to get involved in ESO and every time i feel like ppl get exited for nothing. I really try to look at this game from your perspective, but just can't and it really saddens me because i like the lore of TES in general. I played WoW for a very long time and it is not in the best shape right now, even probably in the worst shape then it has ever been. But honestly guys i can't find a single thing ESO does better, WoW at it's worst days is UNFORTUNATLY, i want to emphasize that, UNFORTUNATLY, still is one of the best MMO, if not the best MMO. Not because it is doing something much better then others, but because it has done something amazing long time ago and it's almost like nothing simmilar has happened in MMO genre (besides Albion Online, i mean if you don't like the graphics or the camera i get it but in terms of MMO experience my gosh, devs are just killing it). I was 100% sure that if there is gonna be a better MMO it has to be one with a rich lore, and i really really hoped ESO is gonna be the one, but.... Fighting system - it's awesome, but when you have 200+ ping it doesn't matter, it sucks, even devs agreed that their attention to PvP is very bad. Wow... i won't comment even, you can like or don't like tap targeting, either way wow has one of the best pvp systems in terms of dynamic and as many other blizzard games it is basically some sort of standard (like Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo) Cyrodil - my god was that a good idea, but all these running its just disgusting... you spend more time running then fighting and of course 200+ ping is always there while you fight. + in terms of pvp in general, wow has a bad balance yes, but you don't see the 1vX fights as massive as in ESO, which for some people is something awesome but for me is just a bad game design. + reward system? You play pvp in wow, you get gear, you get rating, ppl can browse your gear and say "wow that dude has an full arena gear" . There are things like gladiator achievements which is pretty big deal I can't say anything about anyone doing pvp in ESO, i can’t distinguish them from other players, can't acknowledge their achievements based on their gear. PvP almost feels like time killer or session game. I can't even tell their race, unless i see a tail. When i see a specific race in Wow i can identify what kind of passive and active racial they have and can use this info to correct my pvp strategy against them. In ESO - well let's see what this guy gonna hit me with and figure stuff out on the spot. Maybe it's a thrill for someone idkn. I won't say anything about crafting or PVE, it might be good, but as an observer i can't say it's way better then wow tbh. so it doesn't encourage me to play the game. Player housing - not a fan, visited a couple of houses in some guilds... cant see any point in them besides crafting station but as i said not a fan in general, the hole mechanic seems empty for me. Character creator - guys i am not a pro CG artist or something, ESO does have a lot of sliders to customize your character, but it's the same model for all characters both players and NPCS, with the same rig and same animations. Which by the way don't look very good. Some of them are nice, but the basic running animation is one of the worst i have seen in MMO. Sorry for the long text... I am once again downloading ESO to test it, but it usually bores me after 1-3 days...

I have played many MMOs, old Gen, and a few current Gen that have actually been released. While ESO's combat system and movement are dated and nowhere near as flashy or stylish as a lot of games out there, the vast amount of content, immense open world, progression system, and accessibility are everything you can hope for in an MMO imo. Even with some content hidden behind paid dlc, you can enjoy 100's of hrs of play without purchasing them.

Honestly the diablo and ESO are nothing alike BUT that doesnt mean i dont think you should not try it. Considering the game is free id suggest giving it a download trying it and if you dont like then hey you have diablo to fall back on!

I just quit Diablo 4 and I am giving ESO a try. Diablo 4 has way way better combat system and is a lot more challenging which makes the combat more fun. ESO is a laid back game where you can sit back and play when ever w/ no pressure like diablo 4 bc of the seasons. I felt too pressured to play Diablo 4 because of the season resets and I don’t see a point to do the internal realm so I am trying out ESO so I can play more relaxed. I used to play on PSN (got bored of the game every time I played) but I got an Xbox now and it’s free on gamepass. So far it just feels like mindless quests and boring combat but I’m only level 8 or 9. The game picks up more as you level up

I’d say yeah, I moved onto pc last week and it only took me 28 days to do what took me 7 years since launch on Xbox and a whole lot more. Like get a big ol house that I can’t really do anything with yet because the pc account doesn’t have nearly as much furnishings as my Xbox account.

Honestly just starting out it might be worth just grabbing the game + ESO+ to get access to almost everything in the game! then you can decide whether you wanna purchase the expansion! but if you dont mind all of that! yeah dive in and get the golden road edition!

If you do not have ESO+ or do not plan to have ESO+, you better don't play this MMO. because the ESO+ features is the real deal in this game, the unlimited matrial bag is what makes it playable. also ESO is one of those MMO where you come back to play the new expansion for 3-5 months and then quit again for 1 year. and repeat each year or two

bought eso a couple weeks ago, including multiple DLC etc tbh, it's so boring. I played wow, I played D4 I played POE, in the past I played oblivion and finished that but it's just so boring, the pace is very low, the fighting is unappealing, same spells again and again and again yes the world looks great, but the quests and fighting is a bit to slow and boring, I do one mission and already log out again because of boredom.

I stopped playing this game after I unlocked all of my bag slots and bank slots and still didnt have enough room for all of my crafting materials. Do I still need to buy ESO plus if I want to be a crafter and not lose my mind managing my inventory between bank, bag and alternative character bags?

You can’t Enjoy ESO if you don’t enjoy the elder scrolls stories. Like yeah, on its own, it can’t dethrone final fantasy or maybe WOW. But taken within its context and world, ESO trumps them. ESO has a world of 30 years of lore development that imo, is better. ESO expounds on ALOT of that lore. If your main goal is to turn the brain off and grind raids and dungeons then yeah it just isn’t top tier. But if you include the world it’s set in? It’s just special man. There’s a reason it’s the most played MMO if you include all platforms.

Only thing that makes it boring for me is the quest layouts and the combat, for the most part it is a just stand there and click buttons game, and the quests are 80% go here, kill a few npcs, and then run all the way here to the next quest

The game has become tedious. Junk rewards for overly long quests. Quest scenarios are repetitive in every region. The developers have limited tge players with how powerful weapons and armor can become. Sometime the game feels pointless when you can't destroy an enemy with 1 to 2 hits after your character gets maxed out. They essentially turned the game into an endless grind for weapon, armor and color dyes. Players can search for hours in every house and castle looking for crafting motif books and mostly all you find is for styles you already know how to craft. I give them credit for the design bur they really need to give more back to the players instead of trying to over charge for skins that have no effect on the gameplay.

Honestly after update 35 the game has gotten worse each patch they keep making awful changes that no one wants and only buffing nb dk and most recently sorc. All other classes are neglected.

Nah fr I was running battle grounds cause I need ap for caltrops and Its just constant arcanist spam and its my first character and Im a stam dps night blade so pvp is just super unforgiving especially since I only recently hit cp 160 but it makes trying to get that one ability impossible
