Honestly, these are my favourite headphones, I use them for nearly everything. All I've had to do in the 5 years that I've owned them is replace the ear pads as the original ones were knackered and the material started to flake off.
@CreedBrattonTheOffice2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've probably owned them for at least 6 years now and they're amazing. I've replaced the entire thing once (due to it being stolen when the house was robbed. No fault of Audio Technica haha. This was mid 2019). Since then I got a replacement and in the 3 years I've had this pair, I've just replaced the ear pads a few weeks ago. The headband is showing a little fatigue but that's probably because I've only cleaned it a couple times. Gonna clean it more often now. I had to look up a video for replacing the pads but was relatively easy process and cheap. It was like 25 NZD for the replacement pads. I also see so many youtubers using these now compared to a few years ago. Even Linus Tech Tips uses them on their WAN show. Must be good!

I've recently bought M50xBT's on sale and I love them. They are a little bass-heavy but for me, it's a positive- I listen to a lot of bassy music and use public transport so with these cranked to full on a bus, I hardly hear anything other than the music.

I have a pair as well as my fiancee, totally didn't get them in the rad colors of black/blue and black/purple. I feel like some of the hate on these headphones are a bit extreme. I heard some complain about the highs and in some songs it's bothersome but it's pretty rare. Some complain there is no soundstage. I would say it's limited but I wouldn't say that it's terrible for gaming. My fiancee uses these for Phasmaphobia and she pinpoints the sound of the spirits every time. I can understand these not being everyone cups of tea. Like I said, the highs are slightly bothersome so for those who are sensitive to highs, I don't recommend them. However, I find them to be fun. That's why sound is always hard to determine looking at reviews. Everyone hears sound differently so one person can say they screech while others find them to be a relaxing pair of headphones.

There are flaws, but man, they just feel like home. And the sound is amazing as well, whatever people may say. That said, my model is just tired. It's 8 years old, after all. Has anyone tried using these headphones with Hi-Fi Quad DAC on LG phones? I have LG V30+ Is there a big difference in sound Quality when using the Quad DAC?
@Rockmyway005 жыл бұрын
Hey, what a coincidence! I also am using V30+ and in my opinion I like the M40X more. HiFi Quad DAC is nice but it's still inside your phone so there isn't a great deal of improvement. M40X gives a more natural sound because of its flat frequency response. But either one is a good purchase. If you're a casual user you probably can't hear the difference anyway.

How does these compare to the bose noise canceling headphones as far as sound quality only?
@felixkruip5 жыл бұрын
That's funny actually, because my brother had the Bose Noise canceling headphones. He just bought the M50x's and is very happy with them. My personal opinion is that the Bose are very nice, but the M50x's really beat them when it comes to sound.
