@@DrDrayzday Hello, and thank you for your videos! I do have an unrelated question for you. My dermatologist sends my prescription creams to a mail order pharmacy instead of my local pharmacy where I can pick them up myself. The bottles are labeled to store them at 65-72 degrees but if the meds are in the mailbox at summer temperatures of 85-100 degrees for one or two days before I can get them out, are they still good/effective? Thanks in advance for your help on this question!

I've been an olive oil user since I was a child, from parents applying it on me to me following the ritual and I always wondered why olive oil soaked up into my skin real quick and later I still felt the need for moisturisation. I chalked it down to my dry skin and continued keeping it as the oil I reach out to. Now I understand the real deal.

First of all they can be helpful in their own way and level scale just like Doctor Andrea said they do help with their emmolient properties and also in very small small amount due to its oil's nature not sticking well to the skin and it's lack of occlusive attribute enriching the epidermis with antioxidant amd healing compounds. Secondly it is of personal preference if you like them it's ok but some are studied and not to a good extent ❤ so trying them with measure is key 😊. Thank you Doctor Andrea for the info on oils versus lotion/cream , I'm from Greece and as a Greek i believe that olive oil is meant for consumption and not for it's "moisturizing" 😊 properties (the older Greeks believe the absolute opposite 😂).

Hi Dr Dray! I didn't catch this being mentioned but i know you've noted it in past videos, that it's just anecdotal but coconut oil has been reported to trigger breakouts in some people. I'm definitely one of those people - i appreciated a moisturizing effect for a couple of weeks of use, then started noticing body acne in places i'd not had acne in decades, and large, painful acne on areas of my face that my hands or hair (when applied to tips of strands) might've incidentally touched.

She has videos on bakuchiol. She says it's fine as an antioxidant. There are several derms who do like it though. The budget dermatologist in one of her videos on it said that the folks who put out bakuchiol probably did themselves no favors by comparing it to retinoids. She switched out her vit c about a year ago for bakuchiol.

Hi Doctor Dray! I love your videos. Thank you ever so! I was hoping you might respond to these concerns I have sometime. I have acne scars, and I am going to do microneedling at a medspa to improve the texture. They're not too deep, but sometimes, in certain light, they stand out. Do you think possibly doing microneedling in, say, 3 months apart sessions and maybe a morpheus laser procedure, it will improve the quality of my skin texture? I have been using Diferin for the scars to improve texture, but I will soon undergo microneedling as I think it is less invasive and more safer than CO2 laser with less downtime as I work Monday through Friday lol. Thank you so much! You're doing great work with all these tips for us struggling or just wanting to maintain our youth.❤

Hi dr dray ! I couldn’t find any videos that mention kerestase on your channel, do you think you could go over the brand or some products. I have pretty frizzy hair and saw that my hairstylist friend was learning about the formula in a class so I tried it out the discipline conditioner and am shocked that my usually frizzy hair looks well maintained. Wondering if it’s too good to be truly beneficial for my hair lol TY for the content.

My body has never looked and felt better. Many people can be dehydrated from water and oil. Switch to a low foaming body wash and use a nice formulation of oil and water. One of my fave is one from Dr. Organic and Trilogy.

That would be interesting. I've heard of it for detoxing. In skin care though, it's known as silymarin (like a version of the skinceuticals vit c serum).

I’ve always used creams and lotions mixed with a few drops of any oil of choice, such as, sweet almond, castor oil, coconut oil, etc. I’m unable to use oils on its own as it’s not moisturising enough. My favourite combo is sweet almond oil and Weleda skin food. Sweet almond oil with the original Nivea creme to make it easier to spread. I also swear by Elizabeth Arden Eight hour cream and Mary Kay extra emollient cream, these I use on there own with no oil.

Interesting info. I do use Pond's cream to help remove water resistant sunscreen, but I'm such a skincare minimalist that I can't imagine bothering with an oil, especially since moisturizers include oils anyway.

I don't use straight oils on my skin however, I have used olive oil on my dry hair with fairly good results. Olive oil will sting the eyes if it gets into them though. 😭

What are your thoughts on the SuperGoop Glow Oil SPF 50 (or really any SPF oil)? It seems a bit of an oxymoron to have SPF oils-- I would just assume traditional sunscreens would offer better protection, but I dont know for sure!

At least one dermatology channel who tested it said it's best treated like "in addition to" the same way as spf powder, sunscreen sticks, spf sprays, etc., and not as a primary spf.

I use a liberal amount of the Kroger dupe for this over lotion (after lotion sinks in) on my exposed arms and body for daily SPF. I love it. Got tired of getting white sunscreen all over everything. Oil gets on stuff, too, but it just rubs in. I believe this falls into the sunscreen you will use category. I don't use when I will be out in the sun for an extended period.

it always kills me when I hear so many people when they talk about different oils and they say there’s not much research done but that’s as far as their thought process goes. There’s a reason there’s not more research in this area and that should cause people to question this. the research is only in the things that make the money to treat the problems not to keep the problems from happening and that’s a problem! OK, sorry rant over

Olive oil will make your skin glow when it’s on. It has a tint to it and when out in tan skin, it’s beautiful. It doesn’t do anything long term. Better to eat it and glow from your diet.
