Shorter Cranks.... 🗣 LETS TALK ABOUT IT! I've recently swapped cranks from a 170mm to 165mm but... I am in the process of going to 162.5mm. You may be asking yourself: "Why in the world would you want a crank that small?" That's where the *StoryTime comes in, 🙂

I just switched from 172.5 on my TT bike to 165. It was a huge difference for me. I’m now going to switch my road bike from the 172.5 to 165.

That’s what’s up! I been running a 165 on the TT Bike for forever. It’s been working out on the RoadBike and now I’m considering going 160 on the TT Bike, 😆 #RobbArmstrong

Normally on 172.5, tried 165 did not quite like it, lack of torque is palpable. Moving to 167.5.

I run a 160 on my Tri bike and a 165 on my road bikes. My bikefitter recommended those lengths, going from the 165 on TT to 160 felt wierd and took some getting used to but i have come to like it. I also like the 165 on my road bike

After 40 years on a 170mm, I switched to 167.5 this year. I'm loving it. I have a fast spin anyway, so it suits me. I've thought about 165mm, but I'm just not sure. I will look forward to your review of this 162.5.

Running 165's for a few years. Don't see myself going lower since I have long legs. Recently purchased some carbon cranks (ROCKBROS ) for about $200. Waiting for my sl8 frameset to install them

As a short rider, 150/155mm cranks seem to be more optimal for me, even if the bike frame isn't optimized for them. My next bike build will probably have custom geometry to optimize that last piece, adjusting the BB drop and making some other minor tweaks.

Yes you should , you really cant go to short, but need to make sure they dont have a kids Q-factor. Like the goldix I had(145mm Qfactor) you want a Qfactor on the 168-172mm range Praxis Zane is a good one for 30mm spindle for like 170 HEIR is good for 24mm for 150 Best budget for 24mm is prowheel DMJ Think thats the right letters for like 44

I'd say no. The difference in mm is so minimal, there won't be a noticeable difference, I thought about getting 160 or even 165, but from 170 I highly doubt I'd notice it.
