Good tips. I'm getting into a full system and do not have the budget for 2 strobes. My plan is to buy one large strobe and (at least for a while) use my video light on the other side. It has a burst mode that allows it to temporarily output 50% more power in a quick burst. So I'll end up with a lot of light from the strobe and a little light from the video light giving me a sense of directional light (stronger on one side) while some of the shadows are filled a bit by the video light burst. I assume this will work... I look forward to experimenting.

Hi guys! which strobe you recommend if i want to start buying just one?

The most powerful you can afford is the way to go. We use Sea and Sea ys- D2J and they do a great job . Yes, buy one first . They are enough to illuminate people . You need two when you want to illuminate large parts of reef or wrecks with a fisheye lens

and just wondering if i want to photograph people will be enough with one strobe?

One is enough at first for sure, helps you create nice shadows. Two is better as it will give you more control, especially if you have more than one subject.
