SHOULD YOU USE THE PING ChipR??!! Is it better than a Sandwedge or an Iron??

In today's video I test the PING ChipR on-course in different situations and COMPARE it with a Sand Wedge and 8 iron in different situations and lies. Will it go in the bag??

Even though I’ve always been competent chipping with my wedges or short irons I joined a club this January and found I was having some trouble chipping off their tight winter lies. I had bought an off-brand chipper several years ago and brought it back out of storage to give it a try. Short story, the chipper is now a permanent (?) resident of my bag and my 60 degree wedge is resting at home, as I found I was never using it at this course. I may appear to be a hack to some other golfers but at my advanced age my ego can take it, given that I usually outscore others I play with. I’d love to give the Ping a try, although my wife might go against me buying a second chipper given I’m so pleased with my current one.

Would never call anyone a hack with a chipper - I know a handicap 2 who uses one! I agree with you that from a tight winter or summer lie these are almost fail safe! And I also always have to consider my wife in all my buying options... 😂😉😀😉

Great video. Demonstrates how this can help someone who struggles with chipping. And bravo for trying the tough shots as well. Golf is hard.

Good vid mate, my wife bought me one for Xmas and have to say I love it. It’s mainly for higher mid handicappers who might struggle around the greens ect

Great video. You did awesome with your 52. I tried out the ping chipper too. It needs way more loft

Many thanks!! And yes the Chipper is low lofted!! It was good for longish chips for me but not short ones. I
