I just bought a used one, lol. I was on the waitlist for news on the A5X2 and hadn't heard anything yet, so I found a used one. It'll depend on whether any new features lure me to buy the A5X2. If it's something I can live without, I'll just keep my Nomad and my used A5X.

@@VladimirKostek Not gonna lie, if I knew the A5X2 were coming out soon, I wouldn't have bought the A5X. But that's okay. :) I'm an impatient girl when I want something. If I upgrade, I'll pass the old one on to my daughter. :)

I'm relatively new to the whole e-ink tablet, but all of this stuff is peaking my interest and I'm currently doing some research for if I decide to purchase one. Still not sure about pulling the trigger just yet. But If I do, I'm debating on if I should wait for the A5X2 or get the smaller A6X2 Nomad or go with the Boox Go 10.3. I do like the idea of modularity with Supernote products, but it seems that people have been waiting for a while with all the A5X2 delays though.

Thanks for stopping by, IMO if it is going to be your first device I would wait for the A5 X2 as it will have the latest panel. Also the Nomad is great but I think it's best as a secondary device. I've done many videos on all three devices, if you have any specific questions...shoot away!

I just hope they open the pre-order soon. All we got was a "teaser" picture, and that didn't go well with the community. I enjoy my Nomad, but I worry that Ratta doesn't resolve the syncing of multiple devices before or at the time of the launch of a5x2. I do plan to use both devices, Nomad and a5x2.

I get people's frustration but in the end I'd rather have a polished product rather than something that was rushed out. I agree with you on device syncing, that would be a disappointment if the compatibility wasn't there. I'm hoping they will have a big software push on launch of the A5 X2!

You want 2? My issue is I want only one but not sure if it's worth to wait for a5x2 or just buy the nomad hoping it's not too small
@VladimirKostek3 ай бұрын
You could always try out the nomad and by the end of your return period you will likely know more about the A5 X2 specs and then know if the nomad is big enough after trying it!

I note on the Ratta hardware roadmap that the A5X2 is now scheduled to be on the market in September 2024. The same roadmap shows the A4X2 has a ‘Time to market’ of 2024 but is in pre-research phase. My likely use case is for taking notes and maybe annotating books and documents, so I suspect the A4 size would be more useful. I hope Ratta gives an update on the A4X2 progress when they do release the A5X2. I would hate to buy an A5X2 in September then be disappointed that the A4X2 is released three months later in December.

Just fyi I know they are working on a split screen view, it's not of high priority but my guess is it would become more of a priority when they launch a big device like the A4 X2. It wouldn't be very useful on a6 size but might be also on a5 size.

If A5X2 doesn't have a carter 1300 screen then it would be majorly disappointing.

I think it will, they confirmed on reddit it's gonna be 300 ppi and 10.7" which is the size of these 1300 panels. So my guess is it will be

Good video, as always. I think you hit the biggest points on A5X vs. A5X2. The only thing I would add is that even without modularity, the A5X has been highly dependable. I have had mine for coming up on 3.5 years and the only modification has been applying the FeelWrite 2.

@@VladimirKostek I think what they are saying is that even though car reviewers are doing it, it is often pre-planned on routes where they believe it is slightly safer, and also they know what they are doing. But thanks for the video regardless its been very informative and I'll keep waiting for the a5x2.

@basdfgwe I appreciate the concern, I would never jeopardize my safety or anyone else's. I've worked at automotive firms, have tracked cars and have a racing simulator. I was on cruise control on a trip I've taken many times, traffic was not dense. Anyway, we should hopefully hear an announcement any day now for the A5 x2!
