Until such a change became actual law, we avoid making judgments on new legislative initiatives. For example, the 1031 exchange has been up for removal by some lawmakers just about every year in Washington and every year it persists and stays in our tax code. Sometimes politicians get mileage out of simply suggesting changes knowing full well it won't pass. So until an actual legislative initiative becomes law, we don't worry about it. In our democratic republic, we have control over who we vote for, not what those elected representatives do once they are in office.
