Handsome Jack's shadow is just too large. Really, outside of their vlogger gimmick, which I personally found incredibly grating, the two of them were fairly capable villains. When they acted outside of their personas or focused on the logistics of their fame, they were pretty good characters. Shame that several elements of their characters that could've given them more depth were pretty much just tossed in then left unexplored. Troy was a pretty cool boss though (even though his trash talking was hilariously ruined if you hit him with status effects pre-patch).

I think the problem is the execution. If they had been developed as much as Handsome Jack, I think they could have been awesome. Just imagine: the streamers could put out KZbin vlogger-style hit pieces on the playable characters in order to get their followers to hate you. They could rally their followers to take on particular builds in order to exploit your weaknesses and take you down. They could do "collabs" with the other bosses in the game in order to further develop the other bosses and their own characters. And they could keep talking to you in charming, funny ways that you love to hate, a la Handsome Jack. I think the premise is good, and they really could have been awesome if they were used properly.

As a Canadian the use of that particular Trailer Park Boys clip (Chiefs Kiss). Also as far as the writing goes I feel a lot of people forgot just how much work Borderlands 2 writer Anthony Burch put into actually building an actual universe and populating it with memorable and funny characters. Its why the jump in quality from Borderlands 1 to 2 is so high and why in my mind this one falls flat in that regard.

Honestly the thing with the Epic store is not the inconvenience - never was. It’s two things: 1) the practise of purchasing exclusivity on a platform that’s best for its freedom is just an anti consumer practise. Epic have even said they don’t care to improve player experience because no ones ever gonna move on from steam so they buy out deals with devs. This means epic is just a dislikable company. 2) the epic store has basically no features. There’s many, many features that steam and GoG have not hat epic haven’t even tried. I’m not even sure if the epic launcher has a text chat. I know it didn’t at launch. Epic is just the new EA on the block, except they think of themselves as the future

5:45 I stopped playing because of the story. The dialogue made me want to scratch my eardrums out. And they had access to your echo device so anytime anybody had a thought enter their mind it was said to you wherever you were. It is the cringiest almost nauseating stuff shouted into your ear all the time. I had to quit after 10 hours of it.

@@fatalwish9507 it's insanely powerful compared to any sniper especially when you realize it splits it's single shot into 3 dealing the same damage as one bullet an it's crit modifier is insane

I 100% agree about the writing. I'm not completely done the game yet, but I have yet to come across a single moment that's anywhere near as touching, or funny as Clap Trap's birthday party, or Face McShooty. Hopefully a DLC as great as Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep comes along sometime down the line
