My Mom has a black cat that she saved and brought home to a house that already had a cat. The black licked his haunches bald until cat #1 passed away, then he quit. Apparently, it drove him nuts not being #1. I don't think it was an alpha thing as he was twice the size as #1, but because #1 got more attention......that's just my observation, only #2 knows for sure and he never bothers telling me.

We just got one of these for our kitty. We moved and he started obsessively scratching and licking his fur off 💔 We’ve had the collar on for a few hours and so far it’s just made him sleepy. We’re hopeful it will help.

Kebi is to this day an obsessive licker and neither the collar nor cbd made a big difference for her. However, we have seen a change after a year of feeding raw. She doesn't lick as much anymore and her patches have grown back in. Might be worth a try for your baby as well.

Idk if my cat loves it or not but once I put this on him it calmed him down and wouldn’t meow as much as before (he’s a cat that I got from another home, so yeah he has been meowing a lot due to him moving to a new place which was with me) but yeah this really helped a lot, definitely recommend :)

No it didn’t in fact she chewed it of and got her paw caught in it. I do not recommend it was a waste of money. However I found she was allergic to the cat litter I changed it and the obsessive belly and paw licking stopped

Question i adopted a stray that was 1 yo. Hes such a cool cat when hes not freaking out but recently theres been strays roaming around the house and thats driving him insane from zoomies 24/7 to spraying areas that he hears the outside cats from like windows and the front door will this help?

I think it might help a litle bit but that sounds to me like a bigger issue. Probably because he was a stray so his instinct to protect his territory is much more ingrained in him. I'm not sure how but you need to get him to realise that he is safe in his area and that none of the other strays are going to fight him for it. How to do that I do not know.

I have a siamese cat now i had about 2 months her previous owner died in auto accident who brother's friend of friend of family. Few before days i got a siamese cat I call her "sweetie" I lost 2 my cats when taking them their appointment the carrier accidentally fall apart I got one of my cat back 2 weeks later unfortunately I finally actually the same person who found my 1st cat about 2 months later found 2nd later deceased. Anyway me and sweetie about get along week and a half after hissing and growling me at first .I mentioned earlier when got my 1st back that all change not only hissing and growling at previous cat I just got back sweetie is mad at me. I bought a feliway plugin it seems to help I been thinking about get her also a claiming collar as well she's bitten me at times actually been snapping at me. sweetie is starting improving. I'm very much want sweetie as a pet don't want her miserable. Hopefully the collar will help. Just like your siamese she's really beautiful they make great show cats.

I understand the quarantine causing them temporary anxiety. Mine however, Grey has a disorder he is always anxious since he popped out of his mommy’s wound. He definitely has OCD

Our vet told us that there was a rise in cases of anxiety and such in animals due to the changes in routine lockdown brought with it. In SA, we were in hard lockdown for a couple of months followed by partial lockdown where most people still stayed home. Some animals do not deal well with changes.

I think it depends on your requirements. If you're looking to calm your cat in a specific situation (ie for a move or guests), I would start a few days before and leave it on until a few days after. If your cat is naturally anxious, keeping it on full time is probably best. If you're worried, it's always best to chat to your vet about it as well 😊

I am not sure. You would need to understand why the cat is being a bully first. These are more used for allergies and stress.

How do you keep the collars on? I purchased and they come off my cats within minutes.

The ones we used were very sturdy and definitely wouldn't have come off but we found them too uncomfortable and expensive in the long run and switched our cats to CBD drops instead. It worked really well for us!

I have tried one for my cat, but he kept licking it, so I took it off due to fear of side effects of the chemicals. does anyone else's cat lick their collar and have been fine? I think they really help him, but unfortunately I don't feel it's safe if he keeps licking them.

I think they need to be rated as safe as the chemicals will inevitably seep into the cats fur.

The calming collars do have a smell to them and use pheromones to make cats feel happy so changes in behavior are to be expected... However, if you are worried, rather take it off and speak to your vet about alternatives options.

@@MomoSiamese Thanks. My cat is really scared of me and I would think something to calm shouldn't have him like this. He doesn't wear collars. He is fixed but he sprays. This is due to other cats in the house and other cats outside. The vet said the plug-ins but I live with sensitive and paranoid people who don't want that. So I don't know what else to do other than to try to expedite moving out so he is the only cat and may be at peace.

It depends on the brand. Ours was a monthly one I believe but when in doubt, check the packaging. We found that CBD oil was better value for money in the end.

The collars? They have a sliding clasp but you could probably also carefully cut them off when they stop working.
