Food for thought. I like the fuel backup of a HEV. But we are living in the future. And nothing says future quite like an EV.

for your place I would imagine range anxiety might be a concern... although you have great solar potential at your place too 😄

The current sea lion is using old ev battery, not the new byd blade battery. That is very reliable and advanced. Byd vehicles such as the atto is known to be prone to rust in the chassis. Reason? In china they cut cost. So one of the cost cutting is galvanising the chassis of the before assembly

thanks, will keep in mind if I do end up purchasing one I believe BYD is about to introduce the a new generation of the blade battery in 2025 though so that's another factor to consider

@ also toyota and tesla will be using byd new blade battery too. However, there is the lack of customer support after service in australia. Where i am based. Not sure other countries. Byd customer service is minimal here. The rusting in the chassis and door hinges is a concern.

I'm glad to have already been a user of EKS (electric kick scooters) since 2021. Range anxiety is practically non-existent for me now. 😊

The mileage per charge concern used to be a problem with EVs but not now especially not if you are just living in NCR. If you really look at it, Metro Manila is actually small. If western reviewers would say that they are comfortable with it, then we can assume that it can last as their cities and towns are much bigger (which is why they have a car culture to begin with)

I came from a road trip with my uncle on an Atto 3 premium, and man it truly did feel like an SUV from the future, pero nag-ingat ako sa sinabi ko as a possible Reservist dahil sa ROTC noong college to not speak of touchy info just in case the vehicle is capable of low-key wiretapping.

Ev can be charged at home meaning it supposed not that complicated to build charging nfra. And Demands dictate the supply. If more ev becomes available, then more charging stations will be built...

The change in parking/braking behavior is surprising, other reviewers have not mentioned it. Is it possible to change the settings and make the parking/braking behavior act like a normal car? Also if you manually engage parking, do you have to first manually disengage the parking break or you can still just go with the gas pedal?

if there is such a setting it was not immediately obvious to me, had to experiment a bit on my own to come up with the regen braking setting/solution from what I recall if you set it manually you have to disengage it manually as well (tbh for 90% of my use of the car I was just using the auto hand brake so my memory on this might be wrong.. once I trusted the auto hand brake I never bothered anymore with the manual option)
